Tatar has never shot lower than 11.5 percent in a season, and his top-line role in Montreal makes him a popular option in both season-long and DFS formats.

In the second, Tatar ripped a slapper from below the face off dot, high over Mikko Koskinen's glove. He then took off on a breakaway in the third and slid a shot five-hole that Koskinen couldn't stop. Tatar has been outstanding in Montreal since arriving in the Max Pacioretty trade, averaging just shy of 60 points in each of the last two seasons. And with the bleu, blanc et rouge growing this season, Tatar could be on track for his best season yet.

After setting a new career high with 61 points in the regular season, Tatar came into Friday with zero points in five playoff games. It didn't take him long to break out of his slump, though -- after Brendan Gallagher lugged the puck out of the corner and threw it towards the net, Tatar swooped into the slot for the rebound and buried it past Carter Hart just 62 seconds into the first period. He then snapped a shot from the top of the faceoff circle off the post early in the second period for a power-play tally as the Habs poured on the offense. With Tatar out of his scoring funk, his team's chances of advancing to the next round suddenly look a lot brighter.

Tatar (upper body) was back on the ice as part of Monday's Phase 3 training camp, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports.

EDGE Analysis

Tatar missed the final three games of the regular season due to his upper-body issue. Prior to getting hurt, the winger was rolling with nine points in his previous nine outings. The Czech should be a top-end fantasy target in both playoff pools and DFS contests during the team's best-of-five play-in clash with Pittsburgh.
