Steve Sullivan (undisclosed) appears as though he will be alright to play on Wednesday. He was on the ice for the team's morning skate after skipping Tuesday's practice. Sullivan also missed the third period of Sunday's match against Chicago.

Steve Sullivan didn't participate in Tuesday's practice. Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said that he was letting Sullivan rest, but Sullivan also missed the third period of Sunday's game. Tippett wouldn't definitively say that Sullivan will be available on Wednesday, so we recommend erring on the side of caution and considering him questionable.

The Phoenix Coyotes see Steve Sullivan as a potential replacement for Ray Whitney. "He's a very similar player to Ray Whitney," Coyotes GM Don Maloney said. "A little smaller player, but very good skill, good power-play skill. So when we lost Ray, there were only a couple names we really could fill a skill position (with) and he was one of them." Sullivan might be put into a similar position, but he shouldn't be counted on to record 77 points like Whitney did in 2011-12. A 50-point season is about as good as you should hope for out of Sullivan.

Steve Sullivan has agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.85 million plus bonuses, according to ESPN and TSN insider Pierre LeBrun. The veteran forward skated in 79 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011-12, where he registered 17 goals and 31 assists. Sullivan started the season very slowly, but he did pick it up near the end of the year. He'll probably be slotted into the role that Ray Whitney had prior to his free agent departure to Dallas, but don't expect him to put up the same numbers that Whitney had.

Pending unrestricted free agent Steve Sullivan could end up back with the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, sources have told Penguins beat writer Josh Yohe, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, that any potential re-signing may not happen until after July 1. This makes sense as the Penguins are expected to go after big-ticket free agents like Zach Parise and Ryan Suter first.

Steve Sullivan, who is slated for unrestricted free agency this summer, is unsure if he will be back with the Pittsburgh Penguins next season. "I'll have to meet with Dan (Bylsma) and Ray (Shero) and see what their plans are," said the 37-year-old forward. "And then I'll discuss it with my family. It's not a decision for just myself anymore." Both sides appear to be open with the idea of Sullivan returning after he produced 48 points in 79 games during the regular season and another six points in six contests in the playoffs.

Steve Sullivan (lower body) expects to play in Game 1 on Wednesday night when the Penguins begin their first-round series against Philadelphia. He sat out two contests to end the regular season because of a lower-body injury, but returned to practice on Monday and said he felt "awesome." Sullivan should make for a solid selection in fantasy playoff pools because he could see action alongside Sidney Crosby and will probably play on the power play. His 16 assists on the man advantage in 2011-12 were the second most on the team.

Steve Sullivan (lower body) won't be available for Thursday's match versus the Rangers. Coach Dan Bylsma said that Sullivan will be ready to play when the postseason begins, so that might indicate that he won't dress on Saturday as well. Either way the injury doesn't appear to be serious.

He appeared to be getting X-rays or an examination taken following the match, but not much else is known regarding his status at this time.
