Philadelphia and Pittsburgh will start things off today with a 12:30 match. The Flyers will (LIKELY) start Steve Mason in goal. Mason has played well this year as he has a 27-16-6 record with a 2.56 GAA and a .915 SP.   He is 3-2 in his last 5 games. Marc-Andre Fleury is (LIKELY) for the Penguins. He is having a great year with 34 wins and a 2.28 GAA.  Go with Fleury in this one. Ben Scrivens has been (CONFIRMED) for the Oilers against Carolina. Scrivens has played pretty well this year with a 2.24 GAA and a .930 SP, but he has lost his last 2 games. Anton Khudobin is (LIKELY) for Carolina after Cam Ward played the last game. Khudobin had a good start to the season, but he has gotten leky with losses in 4 of his last 5 games.  Like Scrivens in this game.  Toronto is at Washington, and James Reimer is (LIKELY) for the Leafs. He did shutout the Kings in his last game, but his numbers are not great with a 3.23 GAA and a .914 SP. Jaroslav Halak is (LIKELY) for the Capitals and he is 2-2 in his last 4 games. The Canucks will visit Florida today, and Eddie Lack has been (CONFIRMED) for Vancouver. Lack has gone 2-3 in his last 5 games, allowing 18 goals during that period. Roberto Luongo (CONFIRMED) has also gone 2-3 in his last 5 games, but only allowing 13 goals. Still we like Lack in this game.   The Sharks will visit the Rangers in a 4:00 meeting. San Jose goaltender Antti Niemi (LIKELY) has been hot lately with 4 straight wins. He should face Henrik Lundqvist (LIKELY) for New York  Lundqvist has won 3 of his last 4 games allowing only 7 goals.  This is a tough one, but go with Niemi.  The Avalanche will face the Senators in Ottawa today.  Semyon Varlamov has been (CONFIRMED) for Colorado. He has had a great year with 33 wins, but he got lit up by Anaheim in his last game allowing 5 goals.  He is 4-2 in his lat 6 games though.  Craig Anderson is (LIKELY) for Ottawa despite his collison last game with Milan Michalek which knocked him out of the game. Anderson's 3.10 GAA is not good so we would go with Varlamov.  With Carey Price injured, Peter Budaj (CONFIRMED) will start today for Montreal against Buffalo. Budaj is only 8-8-2 on the year, and he has lost his last 4 games. Michal Neuvirth will (LIKELY) start for the Sabres, and he is only 4-8-2 on the year with a 2.78 GA. Like Montreal in this one.  Detroit is at Chicago this afternoon and Jimmy Howard is (LIKELY) for the Red Wings. He has a losing 14-15-10 record, and has lost 3 of his last 4 games. Corey ...

Good morning and a Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! No worries, my coffee isn't green but it may be Irish. Jarome Iginla and David Krejci have been one hot pair of late. And Milan Lucic too. Steve Mason came up huge against Pittsburgh yesterday. Will he come back again today in the back end of the home-and-home series with the Pens? Carey Price returned but he needed the help of his team mates in a huge comeback over Ottawa last night. The best two defensemen, or tow of the best defensemen in the NHL, put on a show last night. Erik Karlsson with 2 assists and P. K. Subban with 3. Ben Bishop and Martin Brodeur were putting on a show for a while last night. The old and the new. It looks like Kyle Okposo is doing just fine without John Tavares. It's safe to say Ryan Miller is enjoying his time in St. Louis. Minnesota plays too many games decided by 1 goal. You have to admire the way the Calgary Flames have been playing this year even though it has been labeled a rebuilding year. Kudos! Colonel Klinkhammer knows that for him to get on SMC, he needs to show up on the score sheet. HE scored his tenth last night. Last night's Battle of Los Angeles was decided by not the usual cast of characters. Anaheim is not giving up the President's Cup so easily to St. Louis Is it me or does Dallas and Phoenix have a race every year to see who gets into the playoffs? The Boston Bruins pounded the Hurricanes yesterday afternoon 5-1, and the Lucic, Krejci, Iginla line was all over the ice, and all over the scoreboard. Left wing Milan Lucic had a goal and 2 assists, while center Dave Krejci had 3 assists and right wing Jarome Iginla had 2 goals. This line is on fire and you should grab any one of these guys if you can.  Krejci has 59 points and is a plus 31.  Wow!  Tough game in goal for Cam Ward of Carolina who allowed all 5 goals with 36 saves.  Ward is really struggling to find his game right now after missing so much of the season with injury.  Nice shutout for Steve Mason of Philadelphia as the Flyers beat the suddenly staggering Penguins 4-0. Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop continued his fantastic season with a 3-0 shutout of New Jersey. Bishop's record is 31-11-6 with a 2.10 GAA and a .929 SP.  Amazing season. The New York Islanders beat the terrible Buffalo Sabres 4-1 as defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky had 3 assists. Good for me because I own him.  He has only 11 points on the season though because he had been hurt.  Islander right wing Kyle Okposo continued his breakout year with a goal and an assist. Okposo has 69 points on the season.  St. Louis beat Nashville 4-1.  Remember when Nashville used to be hard to defeat?  Not any more.  Center Patrik Berglund had 2 goals for the Blues, but he has only 31 points on the season. St Louis center Alexander Steen had a goal and he does have 53 points on the year, but he has cooled off considerably from his hot start. Mason allowed two goals on 26 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Devils. Today will mark his seventh consecutive start. In his last six games, he has three wins with a 3.50 GAA and .880 SV%. He lost his first start vs. Pittsburgh and could be in for a long afternoon today.

Mason allowed four goals on 25 shots, but still walked away with the W on Wednesday. It was the second straight game the Capitals scored four on Mason, but still lost. Mason is on a three-game winning-streak despite posting a 3.29 GAA and .888 SV%.With Ray Emery still sidelined, the Flyers really have no choice but to start Mason vs. the Leafs.
