Monahan posted a power-play assist and took four PIM in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan's second penalty of the night gave the Jets a power play in overtime. While that didn't result in a goal, the Jets used the momentum as Bryan Little tallied the overtime winner. Monahan has struggled a bit this year with eight points in 13 appearances. Coach Bill Peters shuffled the lines for Saturday's contest, splitting up Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau, although the pair combined for the helpers on Elias Lindholm's power-play goal in the second period. For the already-struggling 25-year-old, a demotion down the lineup, however temporary, could hinder his production.

Monahan posted an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 6-5 shootout win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan's struggled with consistency this year -- he's only found the scoresheet in five of his 12 appearances to the tune of two goals and five helpers. The center has added 35 shots on goal and four of his points have come on the power play. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Monahan is showing signs of regressing from his 82-point breakout from last year.

Monahan collected a pair of assists and one shot on goal in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings. He also won six of 10 faceoffs.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan set up power play goals by Andrew Mangiapane in the first period and Mark Giordano in the third, giving him six points in the first eight games of the season. The 25-year-old entered the night having scored just one point in his previous five games, so Thursday's power-play point production was good to see. Monahan had career highs across the board in 2018-19, including points (82), goals (34) and assists (48). He should be in line for another 30-goal season and a point total in the 75-to-85 range.

Monahan produced an assist in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan had the lone helper on Johnny Gaudreau's go-ahead goal in the second period. The lead didn't last long, and the Flames were unable to generate any more offense. Monahan has started the year well with four points in five games, to go with 20 shots on goal and a plus-3 rating.

Monahan potted a goal and recorded a team-high six shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan has scored in each of the Flames' two games this season. The center is up to three points early in the year after converting on Johnny Gaudreau's pass in the second period. The sixth-overall pick from 2013 is well on his way in attempting to repeat the 34-goal, 82-point campaign he produced in 2018-19.

EDGE Analysis
Monahan netted the Flames' first goal of the year in the first period, and then set up Johnny Gaudreau's second-period tally as well. Monahan posted five shots on goal in the contest. The 24-year-old center set a career high with 82 points last year, and he's off to a quick start in attempting to meet that mark again.

Monahan is undecided about representing Canada at the World Championship in Slovakia, Kristen Anderson of The Calgary Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan had no injuries at the end of the regular season or during the Flames' short playoff run. Monahan has played at the Worlds once before, registering two assists in seven contests in 2014. After posting 34 goals and 82 points in the regular season, he would be a major addition to Team Canada should he accept the invitation.

Monahan had an assist and three shots in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan has two points and eight shots in three games in the series. His top line with Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm has not performed at the same level as they did in the regular season, a major factor contributing to the Flames being behind 2-1 in the series.

Monahan scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 2 of their first-round series.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan has five shots in two postseason appearances so far to go with the tally, after registering 82 points over 78 games in the regular season in a career year. Monahan may have more difficulty getting favorable matchups in Games 3 and 4 as the Flames will not have the last change in Denver.

Monahan (illness) was among the line rushes at practice Tuesday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Monahan was withheld from the regular-season finale due to an illness, but it appears he will be back in the fold for the start of the postseason. The star pivot closed out the year strong with six points in his final three games and will look to build on that Thursday when the Avs visit Calgary for Game 1.
