Head coach Alain Vigneault said he didn't know how serious Couturier's injury is after the center exited Tuesday's Game 5, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier was injured on a knee-on-knee hit from Mathew Barzal in the second period and the former was unable to return to the contest. It's unclear if Couturier will be ready to play in time for Thursday's Game 6. If he can't go, Scott Laughton figures to move into a top-six role, while Michael Raffl or Morgan Frost are most likely to enter the lineup.

Couturier left Tuesday's Game 5 against the Islanders in the second period, presumably with an undisclosed injury, and has not returned to the bench per Mike Zeisberger of NHL.com. The game is currently in overtime.
EDGE Analysis
The Flyers' top center hasn't been officially ruled out for the remainder of the game, but it seems increasingly likely he's done for the night. He collided knee-on-knee with Mat Barzal, and given that it's a must-win game for Philadelphia, the fact he's not on the ice suggests he's dealing with an injury of some significance. Stay tuned for additional updates.

Couturier scored a goal and an assist Wednesday during the Flyers' 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders in Game 2 of their second-round series.
EDGE Analysis
After scoring his first goal of the postseason late in the first period to give the Flyers a 3-0 lead and chase Semyon Varlamov from the game, Couturier nearly fired home the winner in OT, but his shot from the slot went over the crossbar. Undeterred, the 27-year-old collected the puck behind the net and fed it out to Philippe Myers at the point, whose blast from the blue line got deflected by Anders Lee and found twine. Couturier now has a goal and five points in the last five games, and a hot streak from him would go a long way towards putting Philadelphia through to the conference finals. He'll try to stay locked in for Game 3 on Thursday.

Couturier put up two assists, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 round-robin win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier was held off the scoresheet in the previous two round-robin games, but he broke through Saturday. The 27-year-old forward had 22 goals and 59 points in 69 games during the regular season. Couturier had back-to-back 76-point campaigns prior to 2019-20 ending abruptly. He can put up numbers worthy of his top-line center role when he's in form.

Couturier was absent from Wednesday's practice session for the birth of his child, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With teams prohibited from providing much in terms of detail regarding player absences, this will no doubt be a sigh of relief for Flyers fans. The center should be back on the ice in the coming days and figures to be full go for the Flyers' postseason matchup with Boston on Aug. 2.

Couturier (illness) will be in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier had been deemed a game-time call with flu-like symptoms, but as evidenced by this news, will tough out the illness. He'll assume his usual role centering the top line along with first-unit power-play time. Couturier has racked up three goals and five points in his past five games.
