Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson suffered an apparent leg injury during Saturday's 3-1 win over Edmonton. Wilson apparently got tangled up with the Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in front of the Colorado goal and wrenched his leg. The severity of the injury is not known as of yet, but an update on his status is expected on Sunday.

Ryan Wilson has inked a three-year/$6.75 million contract extension with the Colorado Avalanche. Wilson will make $2 million in 2012-13 and $2.375 million in each of the final two seasons of his contract. He had 21 points, 97 hits, and 70 blocked shots in 59 games last season.

He had played the previous five matches after missing 13 due to a head injury. In 33 games this season, Wilson is 1-14-15 and plus-5. Stefan Elliott will be a healthy scratch.
