Thomas dished out an assist during Thursday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues have high hopes for their 2017 first-round pick, and he showed a spark in the third game. Thomas entered the zone and made a deceptive pass to Ivan Barbashev, who dished it to Joel Edmundson for the Blues' third goal of the game. The 19-year-old is on an unofficial nine-game tryout, as the team can send him back to juniors after that span if they're unsatisfied with his work. This is a good start for his bid.

Thomas made the Blues' 23-man roster.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas started slowly in training camp and preseason, but he looked up to speed by the end and finished with one goal and four points in preseason play. The 2017 first-round pick will start in a fourth-line role with fellow youngsters Ivan Barbashev and Samuel Blais, but expect the Blues to lean heavily on him for special teams.

Thomas picked up three assists in the Blues' 5-1 preseason win over Columbus on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
All three of Thomas' helpers were primary assists -- no "cheap" secondary assists to speak of. The 19-year-old center was selected 20th overall in the 2017 draft and could wind up cracking the Opening Night lineup if he keeps up this pace. Earlier in the offseason, general manager Doug Armstrong suggested that the youngster could wind up centering the team's top line in 2018-19. Thomas could be a sneaky late-round pick, especially in dynasty formats.

Thomas (leg) will be in action for the Blues at the Traverse City tournament.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas was previously held out of a prospect camp for precautionary reasons, but appears to be good to go. The center will get a serious look during training camp and could earn a spot in the 23-man roster for Opening Night against Winnipeg.

Thomas (leg) didn't skate during Blues' prospect camp Tuesday, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic St. Louis reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues don't seem too worried about Thomas, but they don't want to risk aggravating their top prospect's injury. Since top forwards John Tavares, Ilya Kovalchuk and Artemi Panarin showed no interest in St. Louis, it's very realistic that Thomas will be in a middle-six role right out of training camp. Thomas had an incredible season in the OHL, posting 24 goals and 75 points in 49 regular-season games before adding 32 points in 21 postseason contests. Still, he'll be just 19 years old when the season commences, so he has a lot to prove before his spot is secured.

Thomas scored the game-winning goal and added a helper in Game 6 of the OHL Championship on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas finished a remarkable postseason with 12 goals, 20 helpers and a plus-12 rating in 21 games, and the 18-year-old also won 54.5 percent of faceoffs. This was all in addition to a regular season that featured 24 goals and 51 assists in 49 games. The Hamilton Bulldogs will advance to play for the Memorial Cup, where they will face the champions of the QMJHL and the WHL in a round robin format. Barring a big free agency signing, it appears Thomas will be the front runner for the No. 2 center position in St. Louis next season.

Thomas picked up a goal and two assists in OHL Hamilton's 7-1 Game 2 win over Kingston on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
After posting three assists in Game 1 on Wednesday, Thomas was up to his old tricks on Friday. He now has points in 10 of Hamilton's 12 playoff contests thus far. The 20th overall pick in last June's draft, Thomas has seen his stock rise substantially this year. Once viewed as a prospect with a limited offensive ceiling, Thomas now looks like a lock to fill a top-six role at the NHL level. He could be playing in St. Louis as soon as this coming fall. Thomas is one of the top prospects in the entire league.

Thomas wasn't traded before Monday's deadline.
EDGE Analysis
Even though the Blues traded center Paul Stastny to the Jets on Monday, rumors still remained that they were in the market for a top-six forward for example, the Senators' Mike Hoffman or the Canadiens' Max Pacioretty. However, Thomas was one of four prospects -- Jordan Kyrou, Tage Thompson and Klim Kostin -- that was demanded in return, but general manager Doug Armstrong wouldn't budge. This is a testament to the talents Thomas is expected to transfer to the NHL, as he has 61 points in 41 games for the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs.

Thomas has accrued 20 goals and 46 points through 27 games for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
EDGE Analysis
The 18-year-old pivot put up 16 goals and 66 points through 66 games last campaign, so seeing an increase in his knack for lighting the lamp is exciting for the Blues. On the recent IIHF World Junior Championship stage, Thomas compiled one goal and five assists through seven games. Thomas excels at each level he's placed at, so don't be surprised if he gets a few games at the AHL level if his junior squad exits playoffs in time.

Thomas posted a goal and two assists in OHL London's 5-4 loss to Oshawa on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas had a strong showing in training camp for the Blues and he signed his entry-level contract with the club just a few days ago. Thomas' biggest strengths are his hockey IQ and defensive awareness, but there is reason to believe that his offensive game could take a significant step forward this season. The Knights lost several players to the professional ranks and Thomas will be asked to take on a more offensive role this year.
