Nash scored a goal and attempted five shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Nash broke a 3-3 tie with 1:21 to play, and J.T. Miller promptly sealed the victory with an empty-netter just 17 seconds later. The veteran already has six goals after scoring just 15 in 60 games last season. Reaching the 40-goal mark for the fourth time at age 32 might be a stretch, but a ninth 30-goal season looks very much achievable given this hot start.

Nash padded the score with a goal and an assist in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
The 13-year veteran is finding the scoresheet in bunches, having already accumulated three multi-point games this season, but it's a bit concerning that he's skated to a minus-4 rating through eight contests. Still, he's known for his two-way acumen, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him get better defensively as the season goes on.

Nash flipped in his own rebound for a power-play goal, then later added an assist on linemate Jimmy Vesey's goal in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers had a golden opportunity with AHL goalie Zane McIntyre in net for the Bruins, and after a slow first period, they capitalized. It was Nash who got them started with his goal around the midpoint of the second period, cutting the Bruins' 2-0 lead in half and sparking a run of five consecutive Rangers goals. He's got a mixed bag of a stat line in the early going -- five points in seven games isn't bad, but Nash owns a minus-4 rating despite his team having racked up five wins with a plus-9 goal differential.

Nash scored his first goal (and point) of the year on his only shot and went minus-2 in Monday's win over San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
This game was a bit of a mixed bag for Nash, whose most memorable play wasn't the goal -- a tap-in off a wide Ryan McDonagh shot that ricocheted off the boards and out in front -- but rather a brilliant backhand pass to set up Jimmy Vesey, who got stoned on the shot by Sharks netminder Martin Jones. Nash seems to be assuming more and more of a pass-first mentality at this stage of his career, as he eschewed a prime shooting opportunity in the first period to make a cross-ice feed that got broken up. That's not exactly promising for fantasy owners hoping to get back the olden-days, 40-goal-sniping version of Nash. However, the Rangers' offense has been looking quite capable in the early going, and the veteran winger does still occupy a top-six slot.

Nash has been named one of the Rangers' alternate captains by coach Alain Vigneault, the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll rotate wearing the 'A' with fellow veterans Dan Girardi, Marc Staal and Derek Stepan. Nash is healthy and looking to bounce back this season after a brutal 2015-16 campaign, and perhaps the added responsibility of a leadership role will help him rise to the occasion.

Nash didn't dress for Thursday's preseason game against the Flyers, Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old is coming off the worst season of his career, as he set personal lows in both goals and points. But the Rangers couldn't get rid of him in the offseason and he's on a big contract, so he returns as a top-liner for 2016-17, at least to start out. The upside of Nash regaining his old form makes him an enticing cheap fantasy pick, but he looked like a totally different player last year and it's unclear whether he's capable of getting back to the glory days.

Nash wants to remain with the Rangers, SNY.tv reports.
EDGE Analysis
The big winger is coming off the worst season of his career, having set low marks in goals (15), points (36) and shooting percentage (8.2) while missing 22 games to injury. That in combination with an early playoff exit has trade rumors swirling around him, and the Rangers would surely love to gain some salary flexibility by dealing Nash and his two remaining seasons at a $7.8 million cap hit.

Nash scored a shorthanded goal and added three hits in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Penguins in Game 3.
EDGE Analysis
Nash has been a consistent threat to get on the board in this series, notching points in each game. During the regular season, the 31-year-old was unable to record a shorthanded goal, but now has 11 tallies in his playoff career. Unfortunately, one isn't going to get it done against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins, and the 2002 No.1 pick will try to do his part in evening the series Thursday.

Nash was held without a point Saturday against the Red Wings and has just three goals in 24 games since the start of 2016.
EDGE Analysis
Nash has 10 points in those 24 and finishes the season with the lowest goal (15) and point (36) in his career. The soon-to-be 32-year-old struggled with injuries this season, but seems reasonably healthy headed into the postseason. He could be a sleeper pick for playoff formats because he'll come cheap.

Nash (soreness) will be in the lineup Wednesday against the Bruins, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nash skipped Tuesday's practice after waking up "a little sore," but took part in skate Wednesday and will dress for the evening's contest. He should slot into his normal spot on the top line alongside Derick Brassard and Jesper Fast, and should be deployed as usual in season-long and daily lineups.
