Ristolainen produced an assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
Ristolainen helped out on a Joel Farabee goal in the third period. Through 10 contests, Ristolainen has struggled a bit on offense -- Friday's helper was just his second of the season. The Finn has added his usual physicality with 34 hits, 18 blocked shots and eight PIM. He regularly pushed for a 40-point pace during his Sabres' tenure, so it makes sense to assume his offense will pick up a bit as the season progresses.

Ristolainen (upper body) will make his season debut Wednesday against the Bruins, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ristolainen missed Philadelphia's first two games of the season with an upper-body injury, but he resumed practicing Sunday, putting him on track to debut against Boston. The 26-year-old blueliner, who picked up 18 points in 49 games with the Sabres last season, should slot into a top-four role for Wednesday's contest.

Ristolainen (upper body) practiced Sunday but remains day-to-day and will not play Monday against Seattle, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It sounds like the 26-year-old blueliner is close to making his season (and Flyers) debut, but it won't be Monday against the Kraken. Instead, Ristolainen and fantasy managers will set their sights on Wednesday's contest against visiting Boston.

Ristolainen (upper body) won't play in Friday's season opener versus Vancouver, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ristolainen is considered day-to-day with his upper-body issue, so he could be ready to return Monday against the Kraken. With Ristolainen on the shelf, Nick Seeler will draw into the Flyers' lineup against the Canucks.

Ristolainen is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
At this point it isn't clear if Ristolainen will be available for Friday's season opener versus the Canucks. If Ristolainen is unable to go, Nick Seeler will likely draw into the lineup against Vancouver.

Ristolainen is dealing with an upper-body issue, but there's no concern regarding his status for Friday's game against the Canucks, Ariel Melendez of Broad Street Buzz reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ristolainen is expected to resume practicing Thursday before suiting up for Friday's season opener versus Vancouver. The 26-year-old blueliner, who picked up 18 points in 49 appearances with Buffalo last year, is expected to open the campaign skating on the Flyers' second pairing.

Ristolainen didn't practice Saturday or Sunday to recover from minor "bumps and bruises" ahead of Friday's season-opener against the Canucks, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryan Ellis also took a pair of maintenance days alongside Ristolainen, but neither are expected to miss Friday's game. Recently traded to Philadelphia in July, RIstolainen will be hoping to regain some of the offensive magic that helped him reach 40-plus points four in straight years from 2015-19.

Ristolainen was traded by the Sabres to the Flyers on Friday in exchange for Robert Hagg, the 13th overall pick in Friday night's Entry Draft and a 2023 second-round pick, ESPN's Kevin Weekes reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ristolainen has been the subject of trade rumors for several years, and the Sabres have finally decided to deal the much-maligned blueliner. They were able to acquire quite the hall in the process. Ryan Ellis and Ivan Provorov are locked in as the Flyers' top-pairing defenders, but Ristolainen should slot into a second-pairing role in 2021-22, and he'll also likely be featured on one of Philadelphia's power-play units, giving him plenty of offensive upside. Despite playing on a weak Sabres team, Ristolainen has racked up 15 goals, 94 points, 383 shots and a whopping 631 hits over the past three campaigns, so he'll be an attractive fantasy option next season, particularly in formats that reward physical play.

Ristolainen notched two assists, eight hits and four blocked shots in Thursday's 8-4 loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
The latter of Ristolainen's two assists came on a Jeff Skinner power-play goal in the third period. The 26-year-old Ristolainen has struggled to generate offense with only 18 points and a minus-18 rating through 48 contests. He's partially offset that with 190 hits, 66 blocked shots and 72 shots on net, but there's no denying it's been a difficult year for the four-time 40-point earner.

Ristolainen tallied two assists with two PIM and two hits in Monday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Ristolainen came into the night without a point in his previous eight games, but he put that to bed with an assist on Tage Thompson's power-play goal in the second period. Ristolainen also had the lone assist on Sam Reinhart's goal-ahead tally late in the final frame. The 26-year-old defenseman has 16 points in 46 games on the season.
