Byfield produced an assist and three shots on goal in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Byfield's first career point was the secondary helper on Jaret Anderson-Dolan's first-period tally. It took Byfield five games to get on the scoresheet, but dynasty managers shouldn't be discouraged. The 18-year-old center will likely compete for a full-time role with the Kings in training camp ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

Byfield will be promoted to LA's active roster and make his NHL debut Wednesday against Anaheim, Lisa Dillman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Byfield has been impressive as an 18-year-old rookie during his time in the AHL this season, picking up eight goals and 20 points through 30 games. The second overall pick from the 2020 NHL Entry Draft is expected to center Trevor Moore and Adrian Kempe on the Kings' third line Wednesday.

Byfield was assigned to the Kings' taxi squad Monday, Lisa Dillman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Byfield is yet to make his NHL debut, but he'll be available for Monday's game against Anaheim should the Kings choose to dress him. The second overall pick in the 2020 draft has posted a pedestrian eight goals and 20 points in 30 games with AHL Ontario, so Byfield's unlikely to be an impact NHL player this season, even if given the opportunity to play down the stretch.

Byfield (lower body) produced an assist in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to AHL San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
Byfield wasn't expected to miss much time with a minor lower-body injury, and ultimately was only out for a couple of games. The second overall pick from 2020 should continue to play a big role with AHL Ontario this season. He could challenge for a roster spot with the Kings when training camp for the 2021-22 season gets underway. He has 19 points in 26 games in the minors this year.

Byfield (lower body) is day-to-day, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Byfield suffered the injury in Wednesday's game with AHL Ontario. It's not expected to be a long-term injury for the second overall pick from 2020. He is expected to finish the year with the Reign before challenging for a roster spot in 2021-22.

The Kings assigned Byfield to AHL Ontario on Wednesday, Lisa Dillman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Many thought Byfield might be able to snag a spot on L.A.'s Opening Night roster. Although he was unable to do so, it wouldn't be surprising to see him make his NHL debut later this season after getting some experience in the minors. The second overall pick from the 2020 draft recently racked up seven points in seven games with Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship.

Byfield will join five other Kings and Ducks prospects on a private chartered flight and travel directly to Los Angeles from the IIHF World Junior Championship bubble in Edmonton, reports Bob McKenzie of TSN.
EDGE Analysis
Byfield will be joined by fellow Kings prospects Alex Turcotte, Arthur Kaliyev and Tobias Bjornfot, as well as the Ducks' Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale. The hope is that this will allow for a shortened (or eliminated) league-mandated quarantine. Byfield has two goals and five assists through six games for Team Canada ahead of Tuesday's gold medal contest against Team USA.

Byfield signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Kings on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Kings just drafted Byfield with the second overall pick in this year's draft. The 6-foot-5 18-year-old has legitimate star potential -- he was frequently compared to Anze Kopitar and Evgeni Malkin during the draft process -- but he's expected to play another year of juniors before making the jump to the NHL, so he won't be worth picking up in redraft formats. Byfield will, however, be a hot commodity in dynasty formats in next year's drafts.
