Although Petr Sykora missed Monday's practice, Devils coach Pete DeBoer still expects him to play on Tuesday. We'll err on the side of caution and continue to list Sykora as day-to-day for now. It's worth noting that Sykora is one of the six Devils players that have participated in all 44 of their games this season.

Petr Sykora didn't participate in Monday's practice because he was "resting." When Adam Henrique missed Friday's practice, the Devils said he was "resting" and he went onto skip Saturday's contest with a groin injury. With that in mind, Sykora should be considered questionable for Tuesday's contest.

Petr Sykora scored two goals to spark the New Jersey Devils to a 3-1 triumph over the visiting Buffalo Sabres Wednesday night. The goals were Sykora's ninth and 10th of the season. Patrik Elias, Sykora's longtime teammate, assisted on both of the goals. They were his 18th and 19th assists of the season. Also scoring for New Jersey was Zach Parise (13th). The Devils never trailed in this game and were up 3-0 early in the second period.

Petr Sykora scored a power-play goal in the Devils' 1-0 victory Friday. Adam Larsson and Adam Henrique assisted on Sykora's goal. Larsson now has an assist in each of his last four contests.

Petr Sykora is showing that his training camp accomplishments weren't a fluke and is providing an offensive spark for the New Jersey Devils. In 15 games this season, the 35-year-old has seven points but his fantasy value remains limited playing in New Jersey. "Each night I have to prove myself that I deserve to be in the lineup," Sykora said. "Honestly, I don't even think about scoring before a game. I just want to do the right things. The right forechecks and all the little things I believe are going to keep me in the lineup.

Petr Sykora, Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus will remain together for Wednesday's game versus Toronto. They are the only trio that coach Pete DeBoer kept intact from Saturday's 3-1 loss in Dallas. Sykora has been used at center and on the wing this season with New Jersey. He has one goal and four assists in nine games.

The New Jersey Devils' winger thought he might miss Tuesday's game with flu-like symptoms. He managed to earn 2 assists in a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings. Sure, it might not rank alongside Michael Jordan's "flu game," but Sykora's 2 helpers were welcomed either way. That accounts for half of his points so far this season, which must be fine with him since he made the team based on a training camp tryout. Sykora combined with Dainius Zubrus (2 goals) and Patrik Elias (1 goal, 1 helper) for a second period explosion that accounted for all of the game's goals.

New Jersey's Petr Sykora missed this morning's practice and stayed behind at the team hotel with what GM/Pres. Lou Lamoriello describes as signs of the flu. In the event Sykora does not dress, defenseman Mark Fraser could move to left wing. Such a move would take place because LW Eric Boulton is out with an injured right hand. Fraser took Sykora's spot in practice on a line with Patrik Elias. Fraser, who says he might have played forward when he was six or seven, has been a healthy scratch in each of the Devils' six games. Sykora has two assists this season.

Petr Sykora has centered a line between Mattias Tedenby and David Clarkson for the past two practices. Dainius Zubrus has occupied the wing on his former line with Patrik Elias and Zach Parise, which gives his fantasy value a boost and hurts Sykora's.
