Mrazek was coming off back-to-back losses, against Detroit and Calgary, in his previous two outings but bounced back here. The win was the only positive aspect of this performance, though, as the underlying numbers haven't been very good. Mrazek has allowed three or more goals in six of his last seven appearances, a span in which he's gone 2-5-0 with a 4.47 GAA and an .861 save percentage.

Mrazek is expected to start at home against Vegas on Saturday, per Mark Lazerus of The Athletic.

Mrazek has an 8-16-1 record, 3.24 GAA and .893 save percentage in 26 appearances in 2024-25. He's allowed nine goals on 63 shots (.857 save percentage) while losing his past two starts. Vegas is tied for fourth in goals per game with 3.38.

Arvid Soderblom hasn't been much better during that span, but Mrazek's hold on the top job in the Chicago crease appears increasingly tenuous.

It was Mrazek's first win since Nov. 27, ending a skid that had seen him go 0-6-0 over his prior seven appearances with a brutal 4.97 GAA and .834 save percentage while also missing time due to a groin strain. While victories will be hard to come by with Chicago, a healthy Mrazek is at least capable of posting better ratios.
