Harrold was reassigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Alex Steen suffered an arm injury during Saturday's win over Arizona, and an update isn't expected until Monday. The Blues will likely want to keep Steen off injured reserve unless he has a long-term injury, meaning that Harrold's demotion was likely made to create a roster spot should the Blues need to recall another forward in the absence of Steen.

Harrold was recalled from AHL Chicago on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues were in need of a seventh defenseman following Alex Pietrangelo's knee injury, and Harrold will fill that role. Harrold was a revelation for the Devils in the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but his play never reached the same heights in the three seasons that followed. Pietrangelo will be out for at least three weeks, so Harrold could draw into the lineup at some point, but don't expect Harrold to be a factor in any fantasy format.

Harrold signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blues on Thursday. Harrold spent his last four seasons with the New Jersey Devils, while also spending some time with their affiliate in the AHL, the Albany Devils. During the 2014-15 season with New Jersey, Harrold played in 43 games, recording three goals and two assists. He doesn't offer much in terms of scoring, but he'll provide the Blues with depth on defense.

Harrold potted his third goal of the season in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. A defenseman by trade, Harrold saw some action with the Devils' fourth line with the team electing to scratch Martin Havlat and Michael Ryder. No matter what position he plays, Harrold should be only a minimal source of offense, as he's collected only four points in 34 games this season.

Harrold will replace Eric Gelinas in the lineup for Friday's game against the Penguins, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Harrold will skate alongside Jon Merrill, replacing Gelinas on the third defensive pairing. With just one point and no penalty minutes in 19 appearances this season, the 31-year-old Harrold doesn't offer much to get excited about.

Harrold (face) is in the lineup for the Devils' on Friday against the Islanders, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports. Harrold skated as an extra defenseman in Thursday's practice, but didn't end up playing Thursday night against the Bruins. He will return to the lineup for the back end of back-to-back games Friday against the Islanders, pushing Seth Helgeson out of the lineup.

Harrold (face) will remain out of the lineup Thursday against the Bruins, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Harrold skated as extra defenseman at Thursday's morning session, signaling that a return might not be far off. It's possible that with the Devils beginning a back-to-back set Thursday, the team's brain trust didn't want an ailing Harrold to play two games in quick succession upon returning to action. He'll have a more realistic chance of suiting up for Friday's showdown with the Islanders.

Harrold (face) will likely be out for Tuesday's game against the Sabres, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Harrold has been out since taking a stick to the face last Friday, and though he was able to practice on Monday it appears as though he'll be sidelined for at least one more game. He could return for Thursday's contest against the Bruins.

Harrold (face) returned to the ice for practice Monday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Harrold left early in Friday's contest after taking a stick to the face, and was unavailable Saturday. His return to practice Monday could indicate he will return for Tuesday's game against the Sabres.
