ADD'EM: POST DEADLINE WAIVER TARGETS primepucks.com Sun 3/9/14 8:15 PM

Ales Hemsky, RW Edmonton (Owned in 7.5% of ESPN leagues) Nobody needed a change of scenery more than the talented Hemsky, who never fit into Edmonton's long-term plans and was always the subject of many trade rumors. Yes, he is super-prone to injuries, but with 20 games left and getting a new lease on life while playing with a rejuvenated Jason Spezza, the winger could be a point-per-game performer over the final stretch. He collected three assists in just his second game with Ottawa in the win over Winnipeg on Saturday. David Legwand, C Detroit (Owned in 60.9% of ESPN league) The underrated former Nashville center has become an instant fantasy target as his trade to Detroit means that he will be centering the top line with Pavel Datsyuk injured. With two "hot" wingers in Johan Franzen and Gustav Nyquist, Legwand will get his share of points in the short-term. His fantasy value will be somewhat diminished by minimal power-play time on the primary unit, but he should get plenty of helpers. Tyler Myers, D Buffalo  (Owned in 39.9 % of ESPN leagues) Since returning from the Olympic break, the hulking defender has heated up with six points (3G/3A) in the last 6 games. Myers has been the "poster boy" of inconsistency since his stellar Calder trophy rookie season, but he has played well of late even amidst the rampant trade rumors. Now that the deadline has come and gone, look for the 24-year old to take another step in salvaging his promising NHL career. He warrants fantasy consideration as he seems to have taken strongly to new coach Ted Nolan. Eddie Lack, G Vancouver ( Owned in 69.0% of ESPN leagues) Having lost 3 straight, Vancouver's new no. 1 goalie responded with a strong effort in the 2-1 win over Calgary on Saturday. Yes, offensive support will be LACKING (funny, no?) on most nights, but the young Lack is firmly entrenched as the top guy in the Canuck's crease, now that the Roberto Luongo saga has finally been resolved. If you are in need of starting goalie help, give him a shot. Tim Thomas, G Dallas (owned in 42.1% of ESPN leagues) The former Vezina winner, recently acquired in a trade from Florida, is slated to gain some starts for Dallas as Kari Lehtonen has apparently suffered a concussion on Saturday. In coach Lindsey Ruff's own words: "He is not doing well". Translation- all Lehtonen owners need to snag Thomas ASAP, as he could have huge fantasy value if the Swede is out for an extended period of time. Dallas is far superior to his ...

This is terrible news for the Red Wings who will already be without Henrik Zetterberg for the remainder of the regular season. Datsyuk will miss between 10-12 of the Red Wings remaining 21 games. Datsyuk does not need surgery, but they will shut him down from three weeks and see where he is at after that.

Injury: Datsyuk (knee) will not play Thursday and likely won't play... dailyfaceoff.com Wed 3/5/14 2:56 PM

Datsyuk was not available for Tuesday's contest and will miss his second straight game with a lingering knee injury. The Red Wings sit one point out of the playoffs and could certainly use Datsyuk back in their lineup as soon as possible. He has not officially been ruled out for Friday's game, so monitor his status prior to their clash with the Devils.

Injury: Datsyuk (knee) will not play Tuesday, hoping to play Thursday. dailyfaceoff.com Mon 3/3/14 2:56 PM

Datsyuk continues to battle a knee ailment. He was kept off of the ice all weekend to rest his knee, but it was not enough. Monitor his status prior to Thursday's game vs. the Avalanche.

DAILY PRIME - FEBRUARY 28, 2014: THE "MULE" KICKS BACK, NEW PROSPEC... primepucks.com Fri 2/28/14 2:24 PM

Injuries have plagued the Detroit Red Wings up front for most of the season, but the return of the "Mule" can help them keep their long-standing playoff streak alive. RW Johan Franzen collected a "hat trick" against the hapless Ottawa Senators, giving him 5 points in 2 games since his return from a concussion. To be honest, it's difficult as a fantasy owner to rely on him down the stretch given his history of injuries, but if he can stay healthy.. watch out. As streaky as they come and a consistent "second half" guy, you can do much worse than gamble on Franzen for a scoring boost. While the young forwards have done an admirable job of providing secondary scoring, most of the Detroit offense will fall on the shoulders on Franzen and Pavel Datsyuk. Just hope their knees don't crumble.. Couture Sparks Sharks: We all know this was supposed to be Logan Couture's breakout season, but injuries and a brief slump left fantasy owners unsatisfied. However, the sniper is back in great form, collecting 2 goals in the 7-3 rout in Philly. The good news is that his offensive presence opens it up for all the key scoring forwards in San Jose, including "Little Joe" Pavelski who had a "hat trick" and now sits second in the NHL with 33 goals scored. Look for Couture and Pavelski to be fantasy beasts over the final stretch, while Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton should continue their normal production. In terms of their remaining fantasy worth, here's the following order: 1. Couture 2. Pavelski. 3. Marleau 4. Thornton. Whats The Matter With Maatta? Absolutely nothing! The young Olli Maatta is making a strong case for Calder Trophy consideration, given that he blazed the way for Pittsburgh with 2 points last night and 5 in the last five games overall. Dating back to the start of December, the "OEL" clone has collected 20 points (6G/14A) in the last 30 games. If not for a lack of primary power-play time, this guy would be an automatic top-ten fantasy option but Matt Niskanen continues to get the minutes. regardless, the injuries to Kris Letang and Paul Martin have created a huge opportunity for the youngster, and he has taken full advantage of it so far. Scoop him up if he is still available. More Fantasy Game Notes: Well, let's begin with the "Great 8" who should be moping over Team Russia's disastrous showing in Sochi, but apparently has other plans..like continuing his NHL dominance this season. Alex Ovechkin scored his league-leading 41st goal late in the third to grab ...

Injury: Datsyuk (knee) will play tonight vs. Montreal. dailyfaceoff.com Wed 2/26/14 2:56 PM

There was some concern that Datsyuk would miss tonight's game because of lingering pain, but he will play. After tomorrow's game vs. Ottawa the Red Wings are off until next Tuesday, which will be a great time for Datsyuk to get his knee rested up and healthy for a playoff push. There is still no word on who his linemates will be.
