The dynamic 5-foot-11 forward now has a six game point streak, scoring three goals and three assists in the process. Perhaps one downside is that only one of those points came during a Chicago power play. Proving once again that he's among the NHL's elite talent, Kane will try to bring his streak to seven games on Friday against Nashville.

The bad news is Kane's points per game average dropped 25 percent Saturday, but he obviously wasn't going to score four points per night as he did in the opener. After scoring "only" 89 points last year, Kane's on pace for 328 after one game. Obviously he won't put up four points every night, but the 28-year-old Buffalo native should contend for the league lead in that category considering he now has 199 in 165 games since the start of 2015-16. His line with Nick Schmaltz and Ryan Hartman combined for four goals and 12 points, so any questions about whether Kane could produce without skating alongside Artemi Panarin have immediately been answered.

Kane has two assists -- including one on the power play -- through as many games this preseason.

EDGE Analysis

The accomplished scoring winger has been blanked on seven shots, but that should be of little concern entering the new season. Kane has deposited 285 career goals and accumulated more points (752) than games played (740) over 10 years of NHL service time. In countless drafts, we're seeing him taken shortly after Edmonton phenom Connor McDavid and two-time Conn Smythe Trophy winner Sidney Crosby.

Obviously among the league's most explosive scorers, Kane has surprisingly been quieted for much of these first three games by Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne. Kane's ripped 18 shots on goal, but he only has this lone tally to show for it. He'll enter Thursday's Game 4 with even more pressure to produce, as the Blackhawks are on the verge of elimination.

Since the beginning of February, Kane has found the scoresheet in 20 of 26 games for 19 goals, 19 assists, 101 shots and 13 multi-point showings. Chicago has also gone 20-4-2 during that stretch and pulled away from the rest of the Western Conference. Kane is worth considering early in postseason fantasy leagues, and he's reaffirmed himself as an elite asset entering the 2017-18 campaign.

Wednesday was the 23rd multi-point effort of the season for Kane, and he's now up to 34 goals, 84 points and 277 shots through 77 games. While the numbers don't stack up to his 2015-16 showing, Kane remains one of the most reliable offensive producers in the league. He also climbed up to second in the scoring race with the two-assist outing.

Kane and Artemi Panarin both scored on Kari Lehtonen in the shootout, while only Tyler Seguin was able to solve Corey Crawford. The skilled winger's seventh power-play tally was also accompanied by a team-high five shots on goal. He's over the 80-point mark for the second consecutive campaign after getting there only once in his first eight.
