Brown penned a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Tuesday worth $650,000 at the NHL level.
EDGE Analysis
Brown was relatively productive in the minors this past season as he tallied 12 goals and 16 helpers in 66 outings, but could never quite get his scoring touch in his 14 NHL contests. While the center averaged a mere 9:43 of ice time in those pointless appearances, he evidently showed general manager Ron Francis enough to warrant another deal.

Brown was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Sunday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown's one-month trial with the big club was a seriously disappointing one -- he managed no points, 12 shots on goal, and a minus-6 rating while averaging 9:42 of ice time in 14 games. He did manage 30 hits as well, giving him value as an enforcer but not much else.

Brown was held pointless for the 15th straight game Saturday against the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Brown has played every single game for the Canes since his recall from AHL Charlotte at the beginning of March, but has averaged just 9:43 of ice time in a limited fourth-line role. He does not offer any meaningful fantasy value at the present time.

Brown was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Wednesday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown gets his first call-up of the year after signing with the Canes during the offseason. In 54 minor-league outings, the center has managed 11 goals and nine helpers, along with 43 PIM. It is unclear if the 24-year-old will be in the lineup against the LIghtning on Wednesday or if he is just there to provide some emergency depth.

Brown signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Brown appeared in seven games with the Hurricanes last season, notching two points (one goal, one assist) and eight shots on goal over that span. The 24-year-old forward spent the majority of the 2015-16 campaign with the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate, amassing 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) over 70 games with the Charlotte Checkers. Brown will likely once again spend most of next season in the minors providing the Hurricanes with organizational depth at center.

Brown picked up his first NHL goal an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old Brown had gone without a point in his first 10 games at hockey's highest level, but that 11th time was a charm. Even if the undrafted Michigander goes on to have a wholly unremarkable career -- an outcome strongly implied by his uninteresting AHL stats -- he'll be able to tell his grandkids about the night that he showed off his speed and beat Henrik Lundqvist to the glove side for his first marker in the big leagues.

Brown was recalled by the Hurricanes on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Brown was recalled to supply the Hurricanes with additional depth up front, as the team only had 12 healthy forwards on the roster prior to the 23-year-old center's promotion. Don't expect Brown to do much offensively during his stay with the big club, as he's only tallied 23 points (13 goals, 10 assists) in 66 games with AHL Charlotte this season.

Brown was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Sunday, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Brown, who has been shuffled between Raleigh and Charlotte several times since the start of the season, may be called upon to fill in once again as several of the Canes' regulars (Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, Patrick Dwyer, Nathan Gerbe) continue to be on the shelf with a various assortment of injuries. So far this season, Brown has zero points in four games for the Canes, averaging 9:38 of ice time per night playing on the team's fourth line. Bottom line, not a lot of fantasy value here.
