Parenteau's concussion suffered last Thursday is unrelated to the the concussion he suffered Jan. 2 in New Jersey, the Montreal Gazette reports. The Habs will make do without Parenteau for the time being with a rotation of young forwards Jiri Sekac, Christian Thomas and Michael Bournival.

Parenteau missed practice Monday due to concussion-like symptoms. Parenteau missed Saturday's game against the Islanders with what was referred to as an illness, but Monday's report clarifies that the forward -- who had returned to action for two games last week -- is actually dealing with concussion-like symptoms.

Parenteau will miss Saturday's game against the Islanders due to an illness, Jessica Rusnak of TSN Radio 690 reports. Parenteau was feeling under the weather Saturday morning and didn't participate in the team's gameday skate. Coach Michel Therrien ruled him out shortly thereafter, and it looks like Christian Thomas will assume his spot in the lineup as a result. Parenteau has been largely invisible for the Habs even when healthy this season, contributing a mere six goals and 15 points in 40 games.

Parenteau (upper body) skated on the third line at Monday's practice, the Montreal Gazette reports. He's missed the last three games due to the injury. Parenteau let it slip after practice that his upper-body injury was actually a mild concussion and that he's been going through the NHL's protocol governing head injuries. We look for him to return to the ice Wednesday night against Columbus.

Parenteau (upper body) skated with the Canadiens during Saturday's morning session, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. The team has already ruled out Parenteau from playing Saturday against the Penguins, but his participation in team activities suggests he's coming along nicely in his recovery. After a few more practices, it looks like Parenteau could be trending toward an activation in advance of Wednesday's game in Columbus.
