Ritchie has assists in three straight games and five of the last seven, but he's still searching for his first goal as a Maple Leaf. The 26-year-old has secured seven helpers (three on the power play), 39 shots on net, 61 hits, 19 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 26 contests. Without much offense, Ritchie isn't a particularly helpful wing option in fantasy.

He's added 54 hits, 35 shots on goal and 19 PIM while typically playing in a bottom-six role after struggling early in the season.

The 25-year-old Ritchie has moved all around the lineup in an effort to get his offense going, but he has just three assists through 20 games. He's added a solid physical element with 46 hits and 13 PIM, but he hasn't maintained enough scoring form to earn a more prominent role.

Ritchie appears to have earned a top-line role heading into 2021-22. He skated on line one at practice Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Ritchie has strong connections with coach Sheldon Keefe dating back to his junior days in the Soo. But he has never been a top-line winger in the NHL, let alone a top-six forward. Ritchie has never scored 20 goals or topped 40 points. But this is a plum chance to do both. Ritchie, who is 6-3 and 236 lbs, doesn't always use his size. But playing with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner means there will be juicy rebounds and tasty feeds, and open ice with opponents keying on Ritchie's linemates. He's worth snagging, but be ready to drop him if the pride of Orangeville, Ontario shows nothing more than what history might predict.

Ritchie signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Maple Leafs on Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

After spending the previous seasons with the rival Bruins, Ritchie should help replace some of the puck retrieval skills Toronto lost when Zach Hyman walked in free agency. While Ritchie doesn't possess Hyman's scoring touch, the big-bodied winger is excellent at screening the goalie and could earn a prominent role on Toronto's high-powered power play. Among Ritchie's 15 goals in 56 games last season, five came with the extra man.

Ritchie will hit the open market after not receiving a qualifying offer from Boston on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

This comes as a bit of a surprise after Ritchie racked up 15 goals and 26 points with the Bruins last season. The 25-year-old averaged a career-high 15:22 of ice time and racked up 102 hits. Boston could look to re-sign Ritchie before Wednesday but he'll certainly draw interest around the league as an unrestricted free agent.

He'll continue to get ice time with the Bruins' best players on the top power-play unit as a net-front presence. The winger added 102 hits and 37 PIM, so he'll also supply a physical edge.
