Koivu (knee) is hoping to be fully healthy for the start of September's training camp, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Wild captain tore the ACL in his right knee earlier this month and underwent a successful surgery Feb. 8. Now 35 years old, Koivu's offensive game is in decline, but he's still a valuable two-way player that will enter the final season of his current contract in 2019-20.

Koivu had surgery Friday to repair a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee.
EDGE Analysis
Koivu was already ruled out for the remainder of the season and the team has stressed it won't have any additional updates on the center's timeline until the offseason. While not official yet, the Wild will no doubt place Koivu on injured reserve soon in order to free up a roster spot. Training camps will begin in roughly seven months, which may just be long enough for the Finn to be ready to play Opening Night.

Koivu (undisclosed) will most likely be sidelined for Thursday's game against the Oilers, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The captain left Tuesday's game after he collided with Buffalo's Tage Thompson in the first period and didn't return. If Koivu can't go, Minnesota recalled Joel Eriksson Ek from the AHL, so the Swede could enter the lineup. As evidenced by this news, the Wild could be without the 35-year-old center, but expect the definitive word before the game Thursday.

Koivu did not come out for the second period Tuesday after a first-period collision with Buffalo's Tage Thompson, Sarah McLellan of the Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Koivu got hit up high in a neutral-zone collision with Thompson and appears to be done for the day. The Wild will be hoping that the Finnish veteran returns at his next opportunity Thursday against Edmonton.

Koivu has produced one goal and three power-play assists through 10 games in 2019.
EDGE Analysis
Koivu is a steady yet unspectacular fantasy option, serving as the focal leader of a Wild team struggling for direction in the Central Division. With league scoring up to 3.06 goals per game -- the first time in 13 years that the average has been in the threes -- fantasy owners will naturally gravitate to players with the potential to produce multi-point games with regularity. Unfortunately, Koivu isn't that guy despite a heavy power-play role, as he's recorded only six box-score multipliers between 43 games this season.

Koivu logged 12:59 of ice time Tuesday in a 4-0 loss to San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
The Finnish forward returned after a four-game absence that was originally thought be worse after he went down with a knee injury on Dec. 6. While he failed to register a point, the fact Koivu was back on the ice less than two weeks removed from his injury is a positive sign for Minnesota and its captain.

Koivu (knee) will return to action Tuesday evening against the visiting Sharks, Jessi Pierce of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
EDGE Analysis
Koivu, fortunately, wasn't dealing with a long-term injury as was initially feared to be the case, but it doesn't appear that he will slide back into the top six upon his return. Instead, Koivu should be on the third line with Jason Zucker and Luke Kunin. That Wild won't go as far as leaving the heady veteran off the power play, though.

Koivu (knee) should be ready to play Tuesday against the Sharks, according to head coach Bruce Boudreau.
EDGE Analysis
This seemed to be the way the wind was blowing already, but hearing it from Boudreau makes it seem even more likely that Koivu will be returning to the lineup after a four-game absence. Though the Finn has only four goals in 27 games this season, he's made up for it by tacking on 17 assists to his point total.

Koive (knee) is expected to suit up for Tuesday's contest against the Sharks, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old Finn hasn't played since Dec. 6, missing four games during his brief IR stint. Koivu was solid on the offensive end prior to the injury, scoring four goals and 21 points. Once healthy, Koivu should continue to be a consistent fantasy asset.
