Michael Ryder potted a goal in the Stars' 4-3 shootout win over the Coyotes on Friday night. It was Ryder's fourth of the season. Brenden Dillon and Antoine Roussel had the other markers as Cody Eakin, Ray Whitney and Ryan Garbutt chipped in with the helpers.

Ryder could land a spot with Jamie Benn and Loui Eriksson, but that position will probably end up going to Jaromir Jagr. It's more likely that he plays with Ray Whitney, who is an accomplished playmaker as well, and Derek Roy when he returns from shoulder surgery. Ryder is also eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2012-13 season, so he has some extra motivation to perform.
