Poitras scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
The 19-year-old scored a slick goal midway through the first period by deking Ville Husso out of his shorts and tucking the puck into the net on his backhand, before Poitras helped set up David Pastrnak for Boston's final tally in the third. The 2022 second-round pick has four goals and seven points in 11 games for a very impressive start to his NHL career, and Poitras is slowly working his way into a more prominent role at both 5-on-5 and on the man advantage.

Poitras isn't expected to be sent back to juniors this season and will remain with the Bruins after head coach Jim Montgomery said the 19-year-old center will be "sticking around" in Boston, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Poitras has hit the nine-game mark which represents the decision point as to whether or not to burn a year of his entry-level contract. According to Montgomery, Poitras has earned his place on the 23-man roster, no doubt in part due to his three goals and two assists to open the campaign.

Poitras scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Poitras tallied his third goal in his last two games Tuesday, beating Petr Mrazek on a breakaway to extend Boston's lead to 2-0 in the second period. It's been an impressive run for the 19-year-old rookie, who now has four points (three goals and an assist) through his first six NHL games. Poitras, a second-round pick in 2022, offers some intriguing upside going forward as he looks to have developed some chemistry with Morgan Geekie and Jake DeBrusk on Boston's second line.

Poitras scored twice on four shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Poitras turned things around for the Bruins, tallying twice in a span of 3:51 during the third period. His second goal stood as the game-winner. The 19-year-old doesn't have a ton of offense with three points through five contests, but he's settled into a middle-six role with the Bruins in his rookie year. He's added eight shots on net and a plus-3 rating.

Poitras inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Bruins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Poitras had 16 goals and 95 points in 63 OHL games this season. The 19-year-old was selected by Boston with the No. 54 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Poitras will likely need more time to develop before he'll be ready to earn a roster spot with the Bruins.

Poitras was selected 54th overall by the Bruins in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Poitras is the type of player who will have a shot at an NHL career because he gets the most out of his physical gifts. After not playing at all in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Poitras showed very well offensively (21 goals, 50 points in 68 games) in his first season for OHL Guelph. A creative player who is universally praised for his work ethic, Poitras played mostly center for the Storm, although questionable foot speed may ultimately push him to the wing as a professional. There's a high floor here, at a minimum, given Poitras' combination of skill and compete level.
