Murray stopped 20 shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Two of the Toronto goals came on the power play while the third got past him through heavy traffic, but otherwise Murray was solid in his Ottawa debut. With the same two teams back at it Saturday, Murray will likely cede the blue paint to Marcus Hogberg.

Murray will patrol the crease during Friday's home game versus Toronto, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murray struggled in his final season in Pittsburgh in 2019-20, posting an ugly .899 save percentage in 38 appearances. Things are unlikely to improve Friday, as he'll be taking on a Toronto club that averaged 3.39 goals per game last campaign, third in the NHL, and although the Senators should be improved across the board, it's safe to assume they'll still have their fair share of defensive lapses in 2020-21.

Murray (personal) rejoined the team for Tuesday's practice session, Mike Zeisberger of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murray went 20-11-5 in 38 appearances for the Penguins last year in which he posted a 2.87 GAA and one shutout. The netminder's inconsistent performance led the club to ship him out to Ottawa in favor of Tristan Jarry, With the Senators, Murry figures to take the bulk of the workload while being backed up by Marcus Hogberg.

Murray is away from the team because of the birth of his child, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murray likely won't be away from the team for too long, but he could miss a significant amount of training camp because of COVID-19 protocols. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old netminder, who signed a four-year, $26 million contract with the Senators in October, should be ready for the season opener against Toronto on Jan. 15.

Murray signed a four-year, $25 million contract with the Senators on Friday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Senators traded a second-round pick and prospect Johnny Gruden for Murray on Wednesday, and now they've locked down their starting goalie through the 2023-24 season. Although just 26 years old, Murray has the experience of a veteran with 199 regular-season NHL games under his belt, a career .914 save percentage and two Stanley Cups. The Senators are still in a rebuild, and Murray's winning experience should expedite the process. The team could turn a corner at some point during Murray's current deal.

Murray is excited for a fresh start in Ottawa, reports TSN.ca, and he's optimistic a contract extension that keeps him in Ottawa a long time will be signed soon.
EDGE Analysis
Murray is a restricted free agent and can become a UFA next offseason. But he likes what he sees in his new team. "This is a young team stacked with talent and heading in absolutely the right direction," Murray said after his recent trade. "I definitely hope we can get something done so I can be here for years to come." The netminder has a history of injuries, including concussions and lower-body issues. But he is also the seventh-fastest goalie in history to hit 100 regular-season wins (166 games). Murray will be tested in Ottawa behind a defense where no guy has 300 or more games of NHL experience. Suffice to say, he's going to see a lot of rubber.

Murray has been traded to Ottawa in exchange for the 52nd overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and forward Jonathan Gruden, reports TSN.ca.
EDGE Analysis
Murray and his two Stanley Cups bring instant credibility to the Ottawa rebuild, even if his numbers last season were soft. The 26-year-old had an .899 save percentage and 2.87 GAA in 38 appearances with the Pens last season. Murray is a restricted free agent coming off a three-year, $11.25 million deal. A raise is coming.

Murray yielded four goals on 31 shots in a 4-3 loss to the Canadiens in Game 3.
EDGE Analysis
The Penguins spotted Murray a 3-1 lead at one point, but three unanswered tallies, including Jeff Petry's sharp-angled game-winner, sunk the 26-year-old goalie in a pivotal Game 3. He had allowed four total goals in the previous two contests. With the season on the line, it's unclear if head coach Mike Sullivan will ride with Murray or turn to Tristan Jarry for Friday's must-win Game 4.

Murray is starting Game 3 on Wednesday against Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has had a great start to the postseason, turning aside 58 of 62 shots across the first two games. Murray only allowed a single goal in Game 2, which helped the Penguins even the series 1-1, so they'll be looking to him to be a stabilizing force again as they push for a series lead against the 12th-seeded Canadiens.

Murray stopped 26 of 27 shots in a 3-1 win over the Canadiens in Monday's Game 2.
EDGE Analysis
Murray operated on tight margins for much of the game, as he had to protect a 1-0 lead for 50 minutes before Jason Zucker's insurance tally in the third. Jesperi Kotkaniemi spoiled the shutout late, but Murray got the all-important win to tie the series at one game apiece. The 26-year-old netminder has allowed four goals on 62 shots through the first two games of the season. He's shown enough to likely get the nod for a pivotal Game 3 on Wednesday.
