Knies scored the game-winning goal Tuesday in a 3-2 victory over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Knies' goal gave him five during a three-game goal streak (seven points) after he went nine without a goal. The young wing is bursting with confidence. He's playing alongside Auston Matthews, and it's a matter of the superstar making the kid, at least right now. Knies is not as talented as his current exploits. But we'll take these goals 100 times out of 100.

Knies scored a goal, added two PIM and levied five hits in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Knies didn't replicate his three-goal, two-assist performance from Saturday, but he looks to be much more comfortable in the lineup with Auston Matthews back in action. The 22-year-old Knies is a natural fit alongside his superstar teammate, which should lead to steady production going forward. Overall, Knies has 15 goals -- matching his total from 80 regular-season games in 2023-24 -- while adding 10 assists, 69 shots on net, 83 hits, 18 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 39 appearances.

Knies scored three goals and had five points in a 6-4 win over the Bruins on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
What a night. Knies scored his first NHL hat trick. In the process, he ended his point and goal droughts of five and nine games, respectively. Not surprisingly, Knies' offensive explosion coincided with the return of linemate Auston Matthews, who had missed six games because of an upper-body injury. Get the young winger back in your lineup. He won't soon have another five-point game, but he will generate offense playing alongside one of the NHL's best players.

Knies' goal drought stands at eight games after he was held off the score sheet Tuesday in a 3-1 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Knies appeared to have snapped the slump early in the second period, but New York used a coach's challenge for goalie interference, and the call on the ice was overturned. Knies still seems to have coach Craig Berube's trust, as he plays mostly on one of the top two lines and gets first-unit power-play time. And he continues to lay hits. Knies, more than any other Leaf, might be the most affected by the absence of center Auston Matthews (upper body). His game is developing, but he still can't carry a line on his own.

Knies scored a goal in a 4-2 loss to the Red Wings on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He tipped a Mitch Marner shot past Ville Husso early in the third period to tie the game 2-2. It was Knies' first goal in six games. He's flirting with a 30-goal, 50-point pace this season, although we'd like to see his shooting percentage slowly stabilize. Knies has been successful on 22.9 percent of his shots, but he fired at 13.0 percent in his rookie season. You need to be good to be lucky, but even that runs out.

Knies scored an empty-net goal on two shots, added three hits and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Knies has three points over two games since he returned from an upper-body injury. He's immediately reclaimed a top-line role and is performing at that level as well. For the season, the 22-year-old winger has 10 goals, five assists, 40 shots on net, 47 hits and a plus-5 rating over 22 appearances.

Knies scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Knies missed two games with an upper-body injury before returning to action in Saturday's win. He opened the scoring in the first period when he redirected a puck past Andrei Vasilevskiy. Knies was strong on the puck, and that's great news for fantasy managers. He's found another gear in 2024-25, compiling nine goals and 14 points through 21 appearances.

Knies (upper body) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup Saturday against Tampa Bay, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Knies will play on the top line and the first power-play unit after missing two games. He has collected eight goals, 12 points, 36 shots on net and 44 hits through 20 appearances this season. Alex Steeves will be a healthy scratch versus the Lightning due to Knies' return.

Knies (upper body) might be available for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, per Mark Masters of TSN.
EDGE Analysis
Knies skated on the first power-play unit and top line during Friday's practice, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. The 22-year-old forward has missed the Maple Leafs' past two games due to the injury. He has eight goals and 12 points in 20 appearances in 2024-25.

Knies (upper body) was put on injured reserve Friday, retroactive to Nov. 20.
EDGE Analysis
Knies has eight goals and 12 points over 20 appearances in 2024-25. The Maple Leafs were already missing forwards Max Domi (lower body), Calle Jarnkrok (groin), David Kampf (lower body), Max Pacioretty (lower body), Ryan Reaves (suspension) and, of course, Auston Matthews (upper body), so Toronto is looking rather thin up front. Until some of those players start returning, Bobby McMann, Nicholas Robertson and Pontus Holmberg might be deployed regularly in a top-six capacity. Fraser Minten and Nikita Grebenkin also made their season and NHL debut, respectively, Wednesday and figure to be part of the third line until the Maple Leafs start getting healthy.
