Irwin, who only played in 44 games last season, has had even more trouble getting himself in the lineup this year due to the emergence of 21-year-old rookie blueliner Dante Fabbro. Fabbro, who has played every game, has a pair of goals and sports a plus-4 rating, so he looks to be a mainstay in the lineup for now, leaving Irwin as the odd man out.

The good news is, this was Irwin's third time back in the lineup after sitting out the first 11 games of the season as a healthy scratch. The bad news is, he's still seeing minimal ice time playing on the third defensive pairing, and has yet to register a point or even a shot on goal this season. Looking ahead, once Dan Hamhuis returns from the IR, Irwin will likely go back to riding the pine most nights.

Irwin has not yet suited up for a game this season, having sat out the Predators' first four games as a healthy scratch.

Irwin played more than half the schedule last season, registering just eight points in 50 games, but he has yet to crack the lineup this season. He is really nothing more than a depth defenseman for the Preds at this point, and should continue to battle with Anthony Bitetto, Yannick Weber and Dan Hamhuis for a spot on the third defensive pairing. As such, he has little to no fantasy value in most formats.

This marked Irwin's second season in Nashville, but he saw his time on ice drop from 16:16 in his first campaign to 13:26 this season. The lower usage was likely a big reason why Irwin was unable to crack 10 points for the fifth time in his career, but he also made a mark defensively blocking 54 shots, and did post a solid 51 percent corsi rating. The 30-year-old is due back in Music City for 2018-19, although he's set to be a free agent afterwords. The fact he played in 12 of 13 playoff contests bodes well for his usage next season, although he should primarily skate on the third pairing.
