Stone stirred up some controversy when he hit Tyler Bozak in the second period, knocking the Blues forward from the contest. Stone atoned for the hit by fighting Justin Faulk. When he wasn't playing tough, Stone had a hand in all three of Max Pacioretty's tally to salvage a standings point for Vegas. Stone potted a goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
After the game spent over 32 minutes tied at 2-2, Stone broke the deadlock just 49 seconds into the third period. He later set up Max Pacioretty's insurance tally later in the period. That's leading by example for the newly minted captain Stone. The 28-year-old winger had 63 points (17 on the power play) in 65 outings last season. With a top-line role to his name, look for Stone to produce similarly in 2020-21.

Stone will suit up as the Golden Knights team captain starting with Opening Night against the visiting Ducks on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Stone becomes the first team captain in Vegas' history, with the franchise embarking on its fourth season. A heady winger with elite power-play skills, Stone finished second on the team in points with 21 goals and 42 assists through 65 games in 2019-20, trailing only Max Pacioretty and his 66-count. The Golden Knights have Stone on the books with a $9.5 million AAV through the 2026-27 campaign, and rewarding him with the captaincy should help maximize the team's investment in the 28-year-old star.
