The goal is Johansson's first since Feb. 17 when he was still a member of the Kraken and is his first point in seven games since rejoining the Capitals at the trade deadline. The 31-year-old got a chance at the top line upon his return to DC but now occupies a spot on the third line and could have trouble generating offense (and consistent fantasy value) as long as he's relegated to more of a depth role.

Johansson was traded to the Capitals from the Kraken on Monday, with Daniel Sprong, a 2022 fourth-round pick and 2023 sixth-round pick headed the other way, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.

He played on the third line Wednesday, but the Kraken have rarely used the same forward trios for more than a handful of games at a time, so he could be back in the top six soon.

Johansson produced an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Bruins.

The Swede is up to 19 points, 68 shots and a minus-23 rating in 42 contests overall -- if fantasy managers can stomach the poor plus-minus and lack of physicality, he's been a solid depth forward for much of the last two months.

Johansson notched an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks.

Johansson set up Jared McCann for a game-tying goal at 3:12 of the first period. With three points in four contests since a one-game injury absence, Johansson continues to play well on the top line. The veteran forward has 18 points, 65 shots on net and a minus-21 rating in 40 outings overall.

Johansson had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Jets on Thursday.

Johansson scored a goal in the first period before assisting Jordan Eberle on his game-tying goal in the third period.
