Marco Sturm exited Tuesday's game in the second period after being struck in the leg by the puck. He picked up a minor penalty for interference and one shot before leaving the contest. Sturm has three points and a minus-12 rating in 33 games this season between Florida and Vancouver. He doesn't have any fantasy value.

Marco Sturm returned to San Jose with his Panther teammates in style Saturday night. Sturm, who played the first 553 games of his NHL career with the Sharks, still regards San Jose as a special place. "That was my start, my home for a long time. I think it still is one of the best places to play, and I'm always excited to be here," said Sturm. The German-born winger scored a goal against his ex-treammates tying the game at two in the second period. It was Sturm's second marker of the season. Despite the big goal, Sturm is no longer a fantasy asset.

Marco Sturm will make his Panthers debut on Monday on a line with Jack Skille and Mike Santorelli. The Vancouver Canucks sent Sturm to the Florida Panthers as part of a trade that sent David Booth the other way. Sturm had no points and a minus-five rating in six games with Vancouver this season.

Marco Sturm is set to join the Florida Panthers after a trade on Saturday. Sturm has played well this season for the Canucks. He was sent with Samuelsson to the Panthers for David Booth. It was strange that Sturm was not in the lineup for Vancouver's afternoon affair. Now we know why. His fantasy value remains the same as before.

Marco Sturm will get back into Vancouver's lineup on Thursday night after being a healthy scratch Tuesday. He will fill in for injured winger Mikael Samuelsson. "Marco is a new player to our team and obviously he's trying to get adjusted," coach Alain Vigneault said. "He's got to bring what he brings. From our scouting staff, we were told he's a guy who had a real good skill level and real good speed and could chip in both offensively and defensively. So he's going to get another opportunity tonight and, hopefully, he'll be able to do that for us."

Coach Alain Vigneault wants everyone to give Marco Sturm a chance to fit in with the Canucks. Sturm is one of many Vancouver forwards off to a slow start as he has only one shot on net in the first four games. "I think with Marco, we have to be fair to him," Vigneault said. "He is coming into a new environment and he had been injury-plagued the last couple years. He did go through three teams last year, so he is basically on his fourth team in a year. What we have to do right now is work with him. He's healthy finally, now it's a matter of it takes a little bit of time to get your conditioning to where it should be, your timing to where it should be, your awareness on the ice, to be able to go into an area where you had success before and be confident that you are going to make the right play at the right time." Stay tuned.

Marco Sturm skated this week with some new Canucks teammates and confirmed his excitement for the coming season. Sturm was signed by Vancouver during the summer and the veteran is hopeful that a new opportunity with the Canucks will rejuvenate his career. "In free agency I was hoping for a good team," said Sturm. "That's what I got. I've scored 20 goals before. That's my goal to be back to the player I was before injury." Sturm could have an opportunity among the team's top six forwards and may offer nice value towards the end of your fantasy draft.

Marco Sturm believes he can play in the top-six forward group of the Vancouver Canucks next season. "I think I definitely can do it, as long as I've got my speed back again I can be the same guy," he said. "I am really excited because I don't feel anything right now in my knees. If it stays like this, I definitely see me in the top six." With Mason Raymond likely to start the 2011-12 campaign on the sidelines with a vertebrae compression fracture, Sturm could get that chance. Keep an eye on where he ends up during training camp.
