Stall recorded two shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Tuesday's loss to the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Staal averaged 21:29 TOI in four games ahead of the All-Star break, but he saw his ice time dip in this outing with a 16:48 mark. The veteran blueliner has already surpassed last year's eight-point mark with 11 this season, but it's not enough to propel him into the fantasy realm.

Staal produced a minus-2 rating and one shot in a team-high 23:14 of ice time in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
New York's reliance on an over-the-hill Staal shows just how unimpressive the team's blue line is in Kevin Shattenkirk's (shoulder) absence. His long reach still allows Staal to make nice defensive plays every now and again, but his contributions rarely translate to fantasy value.

Staal scored and recorded an assist in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to Winnipeg.
EDGE Analysis
This was Staal's first multi-point game of 2018-19, and the 31-year-old now has two goals and seven points in 28 games. The veteran blueliner averages just 0.19 points per game and shouldn't be relied upon to provide impactful fantasy numbers on a regular basis. In addition to his goal and assist Sunday, Staal dished out two hits, blocked a shot and also recorded one shot on goal.

Staal recorded three shots and a minus-1 rating in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Three shots qualifies as an offensive outburst for a guy who only totaled four over the previous 10 games. This effort comes on the heels of Staal's first goal of the season Monday, also against Ottawa. He showed some life offensively against the league's worst defensive team, but don't expect Staal to keep this up against stiffer competition.

Staal recorded an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
Carey Price couldn't handle Staal's shot from the point, dropping the puck into the arms of a waiting Pavel Buchnevich, who promptly slammed it home to tie the game, 3-3. The point was just Staal's third in 15 games, though two of those three points have come in November.

Staal had one shot and a plus-1 rating in 16:47 of ice time during Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Staal's veteran leadership keeps him in the lineup, even with the Rangers shuffling eight bodies for six spots on the blue line. Of the six defensemen New York dressed in this one, Staal was the only one to skate fewer than 18 minutes. His fantasy peak was never high, and the 31-year-old Staal has long been on the decline.

Staal played in 72 games in 2017-18, pitching in one goal and seven assists while going plus-11.
EDGE Analysis
Despite seeing two minutes more of playing time after Ryan McDonagh was dealt at the deadline, Staal wasn't able to take advantage point wise, and just missed recording his sixth straight 10-point season by two tallies. That could be partially due to his career low 1.5 shooting percentage, as he'd never posted a season below three since his rookie campaign. Regardless, Staal was still sound defensively, posting the best plus-minus on the Rangers, while also chipping in 76 blocked shots and 96 hits. The assistant captain will return in 2018-19 for the fourth season of his six year contract, and figures to slot into one of the top two pairings once again.

Staal (illness) will be in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Staal missed Wednesday's practice due to an illness, but he's evidently feeling well enough to gut it out against Philadelphia. The veteran blueliner, who's notched one goal and eight points in 63 contests this campaign, will skate with Neal Pionk on the Rangers' first pairing against the Flyers.

Staal is dealing with an illness that prevented him from practicing Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers next play Thursday against host Philadelphia, so there's a chance that Staal doesn't get reevaluated until the next morning skate. Either way, unlike his brothers Eric and Jordan, Staal is a defenseman and is primarily counted on for his shutdown ability, as opposed to being a guy who can help you out much when it comes to fantasy pucks.

Staal (neck) will return to the lineup Thursday evening versus the Canadiens, Brian Heyman of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Staal reportedly practiced Wednesday, showing signs that he'll be ready to return after an eight-game injury layoff. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native likely won't stir up any movement in the fantasy realm, as he's only added seven points through 50 games this season, albeit helping the Rangers goalies to the tune of 71 blocked shots.
