Weegar is one of four Florida players that landed on the COVID-19 list Sunday, with the others being Eetu Luostarinen, Owen Tippett and Jonathan Huberdeau. Weegar has yet to score a goal this season but has been productive nonetheless, racking up 15 assists across 29 games.

Weegar dished out a pair of helpers -- one on the power play -- to go with six shots, four blocked shots and three hits in Thursday's 7-4 win over Buffalo.

Weegar's stat-stuffing performance was overshadowed by the likes of Jonathan Huberdeau (one goal, four assists) and Aaron Ekblad (two goals, one assist), but fantasy managers continue to benefit from Weegar's well-rounded game in the vast majority of formats. The 27-year-old blueliner is still in search of his first goal this season, but Weegar's up to 14 assists through 23 games, including five during his current four-game point streak.

Weegar produced an assist in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Capitals.

Weegar has been fantastic based on four assists and a plus-5 rating over the last five games. Florida's seventh-round pick from 2013 isn't afraid to do the dirty work, either, as Weegar has committed to 55 hits and 43 blocked shots on the season.

The Ontario native has added 14 shots on net, 23 hits, 14 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating in 2021-22 while logging top-pairing minutes.

Weegar scored a goal, dished an assist and went plus-3 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Lightning in Game 5.

Weegar scored the game-tying goal at 6:19 of the second period. He also added a helper on Mason Marchment's go-ahead goal 10 minutes later. The 27-year-old Weegar added four hits and three blocked shots in Monday's contest. The blueliner has three points, nine shots on goal, 18 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through five postseason contests. He racked up 36 points, 118 hits and 83 blocks in 54 regular-season outings in a breakout season.

Weegar provided two assists and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blackhawks.

Weegar had a shot attempt tipped in by Alexander Wennberg on the power play in the second period. In overtime, Weegar set up Sam Bennett's game-winning goal. Through 50 outings, Weegar has 32 points, 91 shots, 110 hits, 73 blocked shots and a plus-23 rating. If he sticks on the power play, he could be a true all-around force in fantasy.

Weegar tied a team record for most points in a game by a defenseman. He has 29 points, including four goals, in 47 games, but just one assist in the six games previous. That means that many fantasy managers likely chose someone else to activate Saturday. Weegar gets next to no power-play opportunity, so his 29 points are hard-fought. Not bad for a seventh-round pick (2013).

Weegar (upper body) will be in the lineup for Thursday's game against Carolina, George Richards of Florida Hockey Now reports.

EDGE Analysis

Weegar missed the past two games with the upper-body issue, but he'll make his return to the lineup. The 27-year-old will handle a top-pairing role for Thursday's game, as he's racked up 25 points and a plus-17 rating across 45 games this campaign.
