Johnson was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Sunday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old pivot has suited up for 13 NHL games this year, notching one assist and an ugly minus-7 rating. Johnson's development will be better off in minors where he can play nightly in a top-six role.

Johnson was recalled from AHL Rockford on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
In a corresponding move, the Blackhawks sent goalie Anton Forsberg down to the minors. Johnson is not a skater that will captivate a given fantasy owner considering he's a bottom-six filler who's averaged only 8:55 of ice time through his first three NHL games.

Johnson was reassigned to AHL Rockford to Thursday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move was made in order for the Blackhawks to activate No. 1 goaltender Corey Crawford (concussion) from injured reserve. Perhaps Johnson will return to the big stage in the event of injuries to the parent club's forward group.

Johnson has gone scoreless while averaging just 8:55 of ice time through the first three games of the campaign.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson had a solid training camp, but that hasn't translated to success early on this season. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 24-year-old rookie head to AHL Rockford for more consistent playing time if he continues to struggle with the big club.

Johnson signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Blackhawks on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Blackhawks selected Johnson with the 134th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old forward recently completed his junior year of collegiate hockey with the University of North Dakota, notching 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 43 games. While Johnson won't rack up points at the next level, he could help the Blackhawks in other areas, such as the faceoff circle. The North Dakota native led his collegiate squad in both faceoff wins (394) and faceoff percentage (.549) last season. Johnson will likely spend a few seasons continuing to develop in the minors before getting an opportunity to make his NHL debut with the Blackhawks.
