Eriksson (bruise) played in the preseason last Tuesday, Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet reports. He's projected to slot in alongside Nikloay Goldobin and Elias Petterson during Wednesday's Opening Night contest against the Flames, per NHL.com.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson missed a big chunk of time to begin the 2017-18 campaign, so it's at least encouraging that he's ready to contribute off the bat after being deemed week-to-week just a couple weeks back. The veteran will look to bounce back following a pair of disappointing seasons for the Canucks, collecting just 23 points over 50 games last season.

Eriksson (bruise) could be in action against the Oilers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson took the ice for Monday's practice session, and appears to be trending in the right direction. While the winger won't suit up Monday versus the Kings, his participation on the ice and potential reintroduction to the lineup bodes well for his availability Opening Night against the Flames on Oct. 3.

Eriksson now carries a week-to-week designation due to a bone bruise, according to Canucks coach Travis Green.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson recorded 19:15 of ice time and dialed in a helper against the Oilers Tuesday, though he sat out the team's preseason home loss Wednesday. Considering those were both split-squad games, it's not clear if the Swede would have played in the latest contest even if he was feeling healthy enough to do so at the time. The second-round (33rd overall) draft pick -- he went to Dallas in 2003 -- only produced 10 goals and 13 assists over 50 games last year, and it's become a legitimate concern that Eriksson continues to miss time with different injuries.

Eriksson (ribs) joined his teammates for a voluntary practice session Tuesday, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given that he didn't have to be there, it's relatively safe to say that the fractured rib which sidelined Eriksson late in the 2017-18 season is no longer an issue. He's had a pair of underwhelming seasons in Vancouver since signing a six-year deal with the team in 2016, but he posted 63 points in his final year with the Bruins in 2015-16. With a pair of talented, young linemates in Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat potentially slated to skate alongside him, the veteran winger could have a bounce-back season ahead of him.

Eriksson (ribs) is not listed on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson has been ruled out for the remainder of 2017-18, but the team has no reason to have him on injured reserve with rosters expanded following the trade deadline. The veteran winger still seems likely to miss the remainder of the campaign, but it's worth keeping eyes peeled for news to the contrary.

The Canucks placed Eriksson (ribs) on injured reserve Wednesday, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign due to a fractured rib, so this move was nothing but a formality. The 32-year-old winger, who totaled 10 goals and 23 points in 50 contests this campaign, should have plenty of time to get back to 100 percent ahead of next season's training camp.

Eriksson will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season due to a fractured rib, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson was ruled out for up to 10 days by Canucks coach Travis Green on Wednesday, but more tests have apparently pushed that timeline back further. Other bodies will move up the depth chart the rest of the way in his absence, while Darren Archibald, Jussi Jokinen and Nic Dowd will continue to vie for ice time until Brendan Gaunce (foot) or Markus Granlund (ankle) is healthy enough to play. Eriksson will rest up and then rehab to be ready for training camp.

Eriksson (upper body) is in jeopardy of missing up to 10 days, per Canucks coach Travis Green, Irfaan Gaffar of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Canucks appear to be keeping Eriksson on the active roster for the time being, though he could miss as many as five games based on the prognosis relayed from coach Green. Look for the Cancuks to continue occupying the right-wing slot with Darren Archibald, who is far from a lateral replacement for Eriksson, but at least can shore up the fourth line while the more established players get bumped up in the lineup.

Eriksson will sit out Monday against Colorado with an upper-body injury, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson must have sustained the malady during Sunday's tilt against Arizona, and Jake Virtanen should take his place on the third line. The severity of the injury is unknown at the moment, but Eriksson will shoot to return Wednesday against the Rangers, and build upon the 10 points (five goals, five assists) he's posted in 23 games since the New Year.

Eriksson potted two goals -- including a shorthanded tally -- on the way to a 6-1 home drubbing of the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
The Swede probably had this game circled on his calendar, as he'd spent three seasons with the B's before getting acquired by Vancouver through free agency in July of 2016. Eriksson's fantasy owners will gladly accept the production, but it's worth noting that the Canucks will soon be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and with that comes fear that veterans like him will start ceding valuable playing time to some of the younger players.
