EDGE Analysis
Mailloux served a suspension for his involvement in an off-ice incident and missed the Knights' first 26 games. His selection by the Canadiens in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft caused a bitter reaction from many involved. The defenseman asked NHL teams not to draft him so that he could work on his behavior and become a better person, after it was learned Mailloux shared an intimate photo of a female without her consent. The OHL immediately suspended Mailloux, but he since completed a personal development program, which included therapy and counselling, and earned the right to play hockey again.
