Taking over the crease to begin the third period with the Bruins down 6-2, Ullmark at least gave his club a chance to put together some semblance of a comeback. The veteran netminder has a 2.43 GAA and .906 save percentage through six appearances in March, and he'll remain behind Swayman on the depth chart unless the youngster's struggles continue.

While Ullmark has been seeing consistent starts of late, seven of the Bruins' last 20, he has clearly been relegated to the No. 2 spot behind Jeremy Swayman. The duo figures to continue dividing the workload for the remainder of the regular season but at this point, fantasy players should probably expect Swayman to be the playoff starter.

Both Boston goals came in an 85-second stretch early in the third period, but other than that lapse Ullmark was sharp all night, even denying Nikolaj Ehlers on a penalty shot in the first frame. The 28-year-old netminder is 3-1-1 over his last five starts with a 2.37 GAA and .909 save percentage, but he remains the team's No. 2 behind Jeremy Swayman, who is 6-1-0 with a 2.12 GAA and .924 SvP over that same stretch.

Per Jim Toth of TSN 1290 Winnipeg, Ullmark was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate, indicating he'll start between the pipes in Friday's road game versus the Jets.

Ullmark was sharp in his last start Tuesday versus Chicago, turning aside 19 of 20 shots en route to a tidy 2-1 win. He'll try to secure a second straight victory in a road matchup with a Winnipeg team that's only averaging 2.63 goals per game at home this season, 26th in the NHL.

Ullmark made 19 saves on 20 shots in a 2-1 win over the Blackhawks on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Ullmark was helped out tremendously by his defense in this one, not to give too much credit to Chicago's offensive effort. The Boston netminder had not won since Feb. 24 against Seattle, though he had only made starts since. The 28-year-old is not the primary goaltender at this point, and is 2-2-1 over his last five starts since Feb. 17.

Ullmark has posted an 8-4-2 record with a 3.03 GAA and .898 save percentage over his last 15 appearances. The 28-year-old did not make an appearance in Boston's 4-3 victory over Chicago on Thursday. At home, the Blackhawks have gone 11-15-4 alongside averages of 2.60 goals for and 30.8 shots on goal, ranking 27th and 21st, respectively.

Ullmark turned aside 25 shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kings.

EDGE Analysis

The 28-year-old didn't play poorly, but he couldn't come up with a big stop when it counted as Andreas Athanasiou put home the winner on a breakaway. Ullmark hasn't been able to capitalize on his opportunities since falling behind Jeremy Swayman on the Boston depth chart, going 2-3-1 in six starts since the beginning of February with a 3.33 GAA and .890 save percentage.

Ullmark will start between the pipes Monday against visiting Los Angeles, per Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald.

Ullmark has gone 2-3-0 with a 3.42 GAA and .889 save percentage over his last five performances. Boston defeated Los Angeles 7-0 in their most recent meeting Feb 28, but Ullmark did not make an appearance.
