Rau signed an entry-level contract with the Panthers on Sunday and will report to AHL San Antonio, NHL.com reports. Rau was one of the top scoring players for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, scoring 41 points (20 goals and 21 assists) in 39 games this season and finished his four-year Gopher career with 164 points in 160 games. The former roommate of current Panther Nick Bjugstad will probably remain in San Antonio for the rest of the year, but is an interesting pickup in dynasty leagues as despite his small size (5'8" and 173 pounds), he's shown a knack for scoring points.
