Palmieri returned from an upper-body injury Friday night in an eventual overtime loss to the Red Wings, pitching in an assist to counter a minus-1 rating over 19:30 of ice time (4:27 on the man advantage).
EDGE Analysis
Since the contest went into an extra frame, Palmieri logged more ice time than usual (15:51 average coming in), and that effectively reassured his owners that he's over the ailment. Still, the former first-round pick is on pace for only 35 points, which represents a big step back from the 57 he put up last year in his debut campaign with the Devils.

Palmieri (upper body) confirmed that he'll be in the lineup Friday night against the Red Wings, Deb Kaufman Placey of MSG Networks reports.
EDGE Analysis
After missing the last two games, Palmieri was able to make it through morning skate, which was obviously a positive sign as he prepares for the upcoming home tilt. Look for the playmaker to reprise his role as a top-six winger, and he should be unleashed on the power play as well, assuming the special teams situation presents itself.

Palmieri (upper body) was present for morning skate Friday, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Palmieri has missed the past two games, but his taking to the ice for morning skate for the first time since sustaining the injury proves that he's making progress. He'll be checked out again closer to puck drop for Friday's home game against the Red Wings.

Palmieri (upper body) was not on the ice for morning skate Wednesday, ahead of a home game against the Maple Leafs, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Devils have reassigned forward Blake Pietila to the minors, but that transaction seems to have paved the way for a Michael Cammalleri (personal) return, rather than Palmieri, who appears likely to miss his second consecutive contest. Assuming he does miss the game, the fleet-footed Palmieri will try to return Friday for a home game against the Red Wings.

Palmieri is suffering from an upper-body injury that will hold him out of Monday's game against the Sharks, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a bit of a surprise originally that he wasn't going to be in the lineup Monday, but now the reason behind his scheduled absence has been revealed. The young winger's next chance to rejoin the lineup now comes Wednesday against the Maple Leafs, while Nick Lappin appears poised to push into the top six Monday.

Palmieri failed to score a goal for the ninth consecutive game Friday against the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
After breaking out with 30 goals and 57 points last year, Palmieri has just five points -- two goals -- through the first 13 games of 2016-17. He also has just two helpers during his nine-game goalless drought. While it isn't out of the question to cut ties in shallower leagues, Palmieri's 6.9 shooting percentage is likely eyeing positive regression given his career 11.7 mark.

Palmieri scored on the power play and attempted five shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Palmieri provided the only offense against Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask, who stopped 28 of 29 shots. His five shots also tied Taylor Hall for the team lead. Palmieri broke out with 30 goals in his first season with the Devils, and has followed that up with two goals and two assists through four games.

Palmieri picked up a power-play assist in Tuesday's home opener against the Ducks, helping out on Taylor Hall's game-winner in the second period.
EDGE Analysis
After a bust-out season in which Palmieri set personal bests in practically every category, the Devils signed him up to a five-year deal. He's not currently getting as much exposure to Hall as you'd like, as Palmieri's skating on the second line and mostly encountering his star teammate on the power play, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see the two paired together on the top trio before too long.

Palmieri signed a five-year, $23.25 million contract extension with the Devils on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
After Palmieri filed for salary arbitration Tuesday, the two sides were quick to come to terms on a new deal for the burgeoning winger. A former first-round draft pick (2009), Palmieri thrived last season in his first go-around with the Devils, easily sailing to career highs in goals (30), assists (27) and power-play points (23). Those numbers look even more impressive when you consider that New Jersey finished dead last in scoring. Taylor Hall was added to the mix this offseason, providing the Devils with an impressive top line comprised of Hall, Henrique and Palmieri. Don't forget about any of those guys when it's time for your fantasy draft.

Palmieri submitted his request for salary arbitration Tuesday, Dhiren Mahiban of The Canadian Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Palmieri and the Devils still have throughout the arbitration process to reach an agreement on a long-term deal, something general manager Ray Shero has expressed interest in doing. Acquired by New Jersey in July 2015 via trade, the winger nearly double his point production as he potted 30 goals and 27 helpers. In terms of fantasy, the 25-year-old should be a high value target in almost any format.
