An energetic scoring winger in the top six, Palmieri's absence comes at an especially bad time. The Devils are not a shoo-in for the playoffs, and fantasy owners were probably hyped about using Palmieri since he's crafted a four-game point streak comprised of four goals and two assists. At any rate, expect New Jersey to have a different look up front with Palmieri out of commission and Marcus Johansson (concussion) finally activated.

After the incident Palmieri was bleeding profusely, and didn't return to the contest. Following the game head coach John Hynes didn't have an update on his health Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports, bringing his status for Sunday's game against Montreal into question. If Palmieri is unable to go, Patrick Maroon figures to move up and take his spot on the first line.

Palmieri continues to do significant damage with the extra man, as 11 of his 23 goals in 57 appearances this season have come on the power play. He's scored 30 power-play goals in three campaigns since joining the Devils, emerging as a tremendous fantasy asset after a pedestrian few seasons with the Ducks, who selected Palmieri with the 26th overall selection back in 2009.

Palmieri notched his 21st goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 win over Tampa Bay.

The goal stood as the winner. Palmieri has hit the 20-goal mark for three straight season, all of which have come in New Jersey. He made it this season despite missing significant time due to injury. And despite his overall numbers being down, Palmieri has still delivered strong production on the power play. Nineteen of his 37 points have come with the man advantage.

His February output included seven goals and four assists to complement a shiny plus-9 rating through 13 games.

Palmeiri scored his 12th goal of the season in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

His unassisted tally late in the third period ruined Sergei Bobrovsky's shutout bid, and Palmeiri was one of the few Devils to have a decent statistical line on the night, adding two shots, two PIM, a hit and a plus-1 rating. The 26-year-old has battled injuries this year, but his 23 points in 35 games is a match for his scoring pace over the last two seasons, and he should produce solid numbers down the stretch if he can stay on the ice.

Injuries have taken a toll on his fantasy value this season, but now that Palmieri is healthy, he should be viewed as a solid asset moving forward.

Palmieri's mouthful of a stat line overstates his actual impact on the game, as much of his fantasy value came from an empty-net goal scored with six seconds left. Still, this strong performance coming out of the All-Star break represents a marked turnaround from the five-game point drought Palmieri had going heading into the break.
