Dach remains on sizzle since the holiday break -- he has four goals and an assist over his last six games. Two of those points have come on the power play, which corresponds with his move to the top unit. The 23-year-old is also on the second line at even strength. Dach has six goals, 14 points, 64 shots on net, 65 hits, 28 PIM, 26 blocked shots and a minus-23 rating over 40 appearances this season, but he's trending in the right direction now.

EDGE Analysis

Dach completed Montreal's comeback from a 2-0 first-period deficit, when he slid a puck through the five hole of Vegas goalie Adin Hill midway through the third period. It's been a rough start to the season for Dach, who has just five goals over 37 outings, but he along with several other Canadiens have emerged from a funk. He's potted three goals over the last three games.

Dach scored two goals on three shots, blocked one shot and had one hit in Saturday's 4-0 win over Florida.

EDGE Analysis

Dach scored 99 seconds into the second period, getting barely enough on a feed from Alex Newhook to beat Florida's Spencer Knight. He was perfect on the second tally 12 minutes later breaking in alone on Knight and beating him with a backhander. The two strikes upped his goal output to four in 35 outings.

Dach found the back of the net in the early stages of the second period, and he did it only 11 seconds after Troy Terry had given Anaheim the lead with a power-play goal. This was Dach's second marker of the season -- and first since Oct. 26 -- and he has only nine points across 28 games this season, so he doesn't have a lot of fantasy value despite holding a top-six role.

EDGE Analysis

Dach did some good things Saturday -- he played with an edge and his four SOG were the most since Oct. 26 -- but his double-minor for high-sticking with 2:40 left in a tied game was not one of them. The infraction was more of a failed stick lift than an egregious offense, but that didn't matter when the Rangers eventually potted the winning tally with 24 seconds remaining while Dach was in the penalty box.

Dach had one shot on net, one hit and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Dach's most notable contribution was a giveaway in his own end that resulted in Vegas' second goal. He's now gone 12 games without lighting the lamp, and much of that stretch came while he pulled shifts on the top line. The 23-year-old forward eventually skated on the fourth line in the final period. Dach has one goal, seven assists, 36 shots, 40 hits, 13 blocks, 10 PIM with a team-low minus-15 rating over 20 outings.

Dach provided two assists in a 7-5 triumph over Buffalo on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Dach had the secondary helper on two second-period goals by Nick Suzuki. Entering Monday's game, the 23-year-old Dach didn't have a point in six consecutive outings. He has one goal and six helpers through 16 appearances this season.

Dach had two shots, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh.

EDGE Analysis

Dach opened the contest on the second line but eventually replaced Josh Anderson on the top unit. Dach spent some time on the top line earlier this year, as head coach Martin St. Louis attempts to balance scoring threats in the top six. Dach has a team-worst minus-14 rating through 12 appearances.

Dach had one shot on net, two blocks, one hit, two PIM and finished minus-3 in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Kraken.

EDGE Analysis

Instead of reintegrating Juraj Slafkovsky, fresh off a three-game absence due to an upper-body injury, to the top line, head coach Martin St. Louis let Dach skate with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. That's the best assignment a Canadien forward can have. However, that alignment didn't last long. By the time the second period started with the Habs down 4-1, the coach reunited Slafkovsky on the top unit, and Dach was moved back to the second line, where he was to begin the season. Dach appeared to lose his coverage assignment on Seattle's first goal 25 seconds into the game and again on the sixth goal midway through the second period. He played one more shift in the second and just four in the third for a total of 3:41 TOI over the final two periods of the game. Dach's minus-12 through 10 appearances is the lowest among all Montreal skaters.

Dach notched an assist and two hits in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Flyers.

EDGE Analysis

Dach has racked up a goal and three helpers over his last three games. He appears to be fitting in just fine on the top line, filling in for Juraj Slafkovsky (shoulder) at right wing. Dach began the year as the second-line center. Overall, the 23-year-old has five points, 21 shots on net, 18 hits and a minus-9 rating through nine appearances this season.
