Kimmo Timonen recorded his first point of the season on Tuesday.
Timonen was pointless through 13 games. He's typically good for around 40 points and while he's unlikely to hit that mark in 2013-14, his early season struggles still aren't a good indication of what he's capable of even at the age of 38.

Kimmo Timonen (lower body) was able to play on Thursday.
Timonen sustained the ailment on Oct. 17, but didn't actually end up missing a game because the Flyers had a week off between contests. He had two blocked shots and two hits in 18:38 minutes in Philadelphia's 2-1 victory.

Kimmo Timonen has been taken off of the Philadelphia Flyers' top power-play unit.
Timonen, who is also recovering from a lower-body injury, has no points in eight games this season. "I'm mad about it, yeah..It's one of those things, if you're not mad about it, you don't care," Timonen said. "I'm not mad about the guys, I'm not mad about the coaches. I'm just mad about myself. Need to be better out there." The Flyers have been struggling collectively lately and offensively in particular. Timonen's demotion might be temporary as the team tries to find its groove and either way, he's still a good candidate to bounce back.

Kimmo Timonen is slated to practice Monday after suffering a lower body injury Thursday according to GM Paul Holmgren.
The Flyers had a week off after their last game Thursday as they next play on Thursday so that will give Timonen plenty of time to recover. Keep him in your lineup for now if you do not have a good replacement.

Kimmo Timonen, while speaking to the Finnish press, suggested that part of the problem with the Flyers training camp was that players that ultimately didn't make the team were kept on the roster too long.
As a result, the Flyers only practiced together as a team towards the end of the camp. Flyers owner Ed Snider called the training camp one of the worst he's ever seen and it influenced the team's decision to fire coach Peter Laviolette after just three games. All the same, Timonen put the blame for the coaches firing on himself and his teammates rather than Laviolette. Timonen also felt that players were playing too much as individuals rather than as a group and that was costing them.

Kimmo Timonen appears to have had a change of heart about the 2013-14 season being his last.
"I'm not sure if this is going to be my last year," he said on Tuesday. "I am going to take the approach of, 'how do I feel?' If I can still play at the level I've accomplished over the years, and enjoy it, I don't see why not play one more year [after this season]. That will be my approach. If I stay healthy and play at the level I want, then I'll go one more year. We'll see." He understands that his career is close to coming to an end and wondered in June if this coming season would be his last. Timonen also added that he would like to represent Finland at the Winter Olympics.

Kimmo Timonen is still deciding on his future but it sounds like the 2013-14 season will be his last in the NHL.
"To be honest, I'm going into the summer thinking this might be my last year," he told reporter Anthony SanFilippo on Thursday. "The mindset I have right now is that I just want to enjoy every moment next year because that could be it ... I'm not saying this is 100 percent my last year, but it could be. It's definitely pretty close to the end." He has been hinting at retirement for a couple of years now, but he wants to represent Finland at the 2014 Olympics.

Kimmo Timonen has a compression fracture in his right foot and will be sidelined for four to five weeks.
It's been that kind of season for Philly. Timonen joins Andrej Meszaros, Nicklas Grossmann, Braydon Coburn, Bruno Gervais, Kent Huskins, Marc-Andre Bourdon and Chris Pronger among the Flyers' wounded defensemen, which isn't even counting the forwards that are hurt. Needless to say, Timonen will miss the rest of the season.
