Hayes recorded three assists Tuesday in a 5-3 win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
It was a rare three-point night for Hayes, a feat the 26-year-old had not pulled off since 2016-17. Tuesday's performance moved him to eight points on the season and despite the offensive outburst against Montreal, Hayes remains a risky fantasy play most evenings.

Hayes finished with an assist and four shots in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
Hayes also skated 22:02, topping the 22-minute mark for the second time this season. Despite a slow start that's featured only two goals and two assists through 12 games, rumor has it that the trade market for Hayes is heating up. The Rangers have a lot of young centers in the pipeline -- 2017 seventh-overall pick Lias Andersson didn't even make the roster despite a decent camp -- so the rebuilding team won't hesitate to move Hayes for the right price, especially since New York opted to sign Hayes to a one-year pact rather than extend him long-term this past offseason.

Hayes was held pointless during Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Calgary Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Hayes was unable to find a goal or an assist, logging the second highest time-on-ice among Rangers' forwards with over 18 minutes on ice. He had just over a minute on the power play, taking three shots during the loss.

Hayes registered two assists in Sunday's 8-5 loss to Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
The two helpers represented Hayes' first points of the season, coming off a 44-point campaign in 2017-18. Even if New York struggles to collect wins this year, the 26-year-old should be one of its primary point producers after finishing third on the team in points a season ago.

Hayes agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Rangers on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of of SportsNet reports.
EDGE Analysis
While official details of the contract haven't been released, it's expected to come in at just over $5 million. Hayes was hoping for a long-term deal, but the Rangers weren't willing to make that sort of commitment, so the 26-year-old ends up with just a one-year deal and will hit unrestricted free agency ahead of the 2019-20 season. He's coming off a 2017-18 campaign where he notched a career-high 25 goals, as well as 19 assists across 76 games.

Hayes filed for salary arbitration Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Hayes set career highs in goals (25) and shots on net (172) in 2017-18, and he's likely expecting a bump in pay as a result. The 26-year-old pivot will continue to be an important piece for the Rangers up front next season, and as a near lock for 40-plus points, he should also remain a high-end bench option in most fantasy formats.

Hayes has received a qualifying offer from the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Hayes netted a career-high 25 goals last season despite being used primarily in a checking role against the opposition's top forwards. The 6-foot-5, 217-pound pivot will likely ink a multi-year pact with New York as a restricted free agent this summer.

Hayes potted a power-play goal in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Remarkably, Hayes' first-period tally is the only goal the Rangers have scored in the past two meetings against Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak. The fourth-year center has been one of the few bright spots in a lost season for the Blueshirts, as he's lit the lamp four times over a five-game point streak to reach the 25-goal mark for the first time.

Hayes scored a shorthanded goal Saturday in a 2-1 win over Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
The goal stood up as the winner. Hayes has a three-game, three-point streak (two goals, one assist) on the go and seven points in his last eight games. Hayes is a solid end-of-the-bench play as the season ends.

Hayes recorded two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
He also chipped in one shot and a plus-2 rating. Hayes now has three goals and seven points in his last eight games, and while he's already set a new personal best with 21 goals on the season, he still sits one point shy of his third career 40-point campaign.
