Jokinen was claimed off waivers by Columbus on Wednesday, Brian Hedger of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a low-risk move for the Jackets seeing as how Jokinen is a pending unrestricted free agent cashing out the balance of a $1.1 million contract. The veteran, who is capable of playing any forward position, has just six points through 32 games between the Oilers and Kings this season, and we doubt the Blue Jackets expect him to come close to the .74 points per game he put up with the Panthers in 2015-16. Instead, Jokinen should be a decent bottom-six contributor for a Blue Jackets team in pursuit of its first Stanley Cup championship.

Jokinen was placed on waivers Tuesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jokinen -- who was acquired via trade from Edmonton -- now finds himself on the waiver wire. The 34-year-old carries a relatively manageable $1.1 million cap hit that shouldn't dissuade potential suitors from picking him up. If the winger does go unclaimed, the club will likely assign him to AHL Ontario -- although the Finn could ask for his outright release instead.

Jokinen collected two assists, two PIM and a plus-2 rating during Friday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
After being a healthy scratch for Tuesday's loss to New Jersey, it was encouraging to see Jokinen respond with a multi-point showing against the Rangers on Friday. The veteran Finn has registered just a single goal and four assists through 14 games since joining the Kings, and he's clearly not locked into the lineup. Although, Friday's strong game likely extended his leash. While Jokinen is currently off the fantasy radar in the majority of settings, he shouldn't be completely ignored because he has the potential to climb the depth chart and has a track record of success.

Jokinen potted his first goal with the Kings in Thursday's win over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Jokinen showed off his slick hands with a nice breakaway tally against elite netminder Braden Holtby. The goal held up as the game winner for Jokinen, who has three points in eight games since joining the club. At this stage in his career, the 34-year-old doesn't offer too much in terms of fantasy value. Jokinen is still good for the occasional tally, though, and could aid you in a very deep league. The veteran is probably one of the better fourth-liners around.

Jokinen will make his debut with the Kings against the Bruins on Thursday, NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Finnish veteran was part of a 1-for-1 swap that saw Michael Cammalleri bound for Edmonton. It looks like there's nowhere to go but up for Jokinen, as he only managed one point (an assist) and a minus-3 rating over 14 games with the Oilers, but we're still projecting him to start out in a fourth-line role with the Kings.

Jokinen was traded to the Kings in exchange for Michael Cammalleri, Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jokinen simply couldn't find his groove in Edmonton, notching just one assist and no goals on 24 shots through 14 games. Combine that with a minus-3 rating, and he was deemed an underwhelming veteran. The 34-year-old will likely never reach the 50-point seasons he used to post, so both the Oiler and Kings hope the change of scenery will benefit these journeymen through this exchange.

Jokinen put four shots on net in 15:01 of ice time during Saturday's drubbing at the hands of the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Through four games with the Oilers, Jokinen has yet to get on the scoresheet. He's put 10 pucks on net, but he's not seeing a whole lot of ice time. Saturday's 15:01 was a high-water mark for the young season. He's a long way from that 30-goal season in 2010. He's likely to be a role player this year. He can still score, but the ceiling isn't very high.

Jokinen agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Edmonton on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Jokinen joins Connor McDavid and company after three seasons with the Panthers. It was a difficult 2016-17 campaign for the winger as he saw action in just 69 games due to injury and failed to reach the 30-point mark for only the third time in his 12-year career. Even in a bottom-six role, the veteran's numbers should get a boost from joining the high-powered Oilers offense. Putting up 40 points is within the realm of possibility for Jokinen this upcoming season.

Jokinen will have his contract bought out by the Panthers, Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Finn has one year remaining on his four-year contract, which is valued at $4 million annually. Given Jokinen's age -- he's 34 years old -- the Panthers will have to pay him two-thirds of his remaining salary with this buyout after the waiver process takes its course. He struggled with a knee injury this past season and ended up with just 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) and a career-worst minus-15 rating in 69 games.

Jokinen has one year remaining on his contract with the Panthers, commanding $4 million. After that, he'd be an unrestricted free agent.
EDGE Analysis
Jokinen's deal includes a modified no-trade clause, but he still could be exposed to the Las Vegas expansion draft in June. The journeyman on the wing struggled with injuries this year, seeing his point total drop from 60 to 28 compared to the previous campaign. Of course, an abrupt in-season coaching change from Gerard Gallant to Tom Rowe, who won't be returning next season, seemed to disrupt the team chemistry in a negative way. Still, the Finn in question has played for five different NHL teams, so one would think he could laugh in the face of adversity by now. Health permitting, we'd bet on a rebound from Jokinen next year, but reevaluating the 34-year-old would be necessary if he finds himself in Sin City.
