Compher scored a power-play goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Compher has two goals, two assists and 11 shots on goal in his last three games. He's been a solid fit as the top-line center recently, but he'll likely be moving down the lineup or onto the wing once Nathan MacKinnon (upper body) returns. Compher is up to six tallies, 20 points (seven on the power play), 62 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through 34 contests this season.

Compher registered two assists, four shots on goal and a minus-3 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Compher picked up one assist on the power play, his first production with the man advantage since Dec. 1. The 27-year-old is seeing top-line usage with the Avalanche missing three of their regular top-six forwards. He has five goals, 14 helpers, 58 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 33 appearances this season.

Compher scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators. He added one blocked shot over 24:50 of ice time.
EDGE Analysis
Compher, positioned in front of Jusse Saros, tipped in Artturi Lehkonen's shot from the blue line for the game-tying goal with five minutes left in regulation. The goal snapped a four-game pointless stretch for Compher, who continues to fill as the top-line center with Nathan MacKinnon (upper body) sidelined. Compher has four goals and five assists in nine games since Dec. 1, when he was given a larger role due to injuries.

Compher had six shots on goal, one hit and four blocked shots over 22:36 of ice time in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
Compher was the first-line center, skating between Artturi Lehkonen and Mikko Rantanen. It's an alignment Colorado head coach Jared Bednar put together during Friday's practice and stuck with it Saturday. This was the ninth consecutive game with more than 20 minutes TOI for Compher, who is averaging 23:01 while posting eight points during that stretch. With Gabriel Landeskog (knee) and Nathan MacKinnon (upper body) out until early January, Compher is expected to remain in a top-six role for a few more weeks.

Compher skated on the first line during Friday's practice, Brennan Vogt of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
EDGE Analysis
Compher stepped up his production while Colorado navigated several injuries to its forwards. He has three goals and five assists while averaging 23:05 TOI over the last eight games. He's also been good at the dot, winning nearly 55 percent of his draws, including 71 percent in Thursday's loss to the Sabres. With some of the injured personnel returning to the ice, it looks like head coach Jared Bednar is looking to fill out the scoring among the top two lines. As such, Valeri Nichushkin slipped down to the second line at practice, leaving Compher to skate with Finnish wingers Mikko Rantanen and Artturi Lehkonen.

Compher scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Compher set up Devon Toews' game-tying tally in the second period before scoring the game-winner himself in the third. This was Compher's third multi-point effort in the last 10 games, a span in which he has three goals and seven assists. For the season, the 27-year-old is up to four tallies, 16 points, 39 shots, 24 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating in 27 appearances. He'll likely continue to be leaned on heavily as the Avalanche navigate a brutal stretch of injuries to key forwards.

Compher had an assist, three shots on goal, one hit and one blocked shot over a forward-high 25:34 of ice time in Monday's 5-3 loss to Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
The injured Avalanche suffered another one during the game; Nathan MacKinnon left with an upper-body injury midway through the first period. That opened up a spot on the top line, which Compher filled. He'll continue in a top-six role if some the injured don't return in time for Wednesday's home game against the Bruins. The composition of the lines heading into Wednesday is up in the air. Colorado placed both Alex Galchenyuk and Jayson Megna on waivers -- oddly enough, each was in the lineup Monday while officially being on waivers -- which suggests Valeri Nichushkin (ankle), Artturi Lehkonen (upper body) or Jean-Luc Foudy (lower body) could be set to return.

Compher scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the game-winner, and added two assists in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
His second tally of the night, coming late in the second period, gave the Avs a 5-3 lead. It was a career-best performance for Compher, who had picked up three points in a game on four occasions, and after a slow start to the season the 27-year-old has three goals and 11 points over his last 12 games.

Compher registered two assists in a 4-3 loss to Vancouver on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Compher has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last four games. He's up to a goal and eight points in 18 contests this season. The 27-year-old forward has never recorded more than 33 points in a season, so while he's hot right now it's best to temper your long-term expectations for him.
