Harding has won each of his three starts since taking over the starting job from the injured Niklas Backstrom, he also came in to relieve Darcy Kuemper who struggled vs. the Leafs last night. In his last four appearances he is 3-0 with a 0.87 GAA and .952 SV%, which should earn him some starts when Backstrom returns. He has a pretty difficult matchup vs. Tampa Bay tomorrow.

Since Niklas Backstrom has been sidelined, Harding has won each of his two starts. He has only allowed the opposition to score one goal in each start. Harding has a 1.07 GAA and .944 SV% so far, and against a bad Sabres team he should make for a great start tonight.

The Red Wings travel again to Boston, where Jimmy Howard suffered a 4-1 defeat their last time out. Coming off a 3-1 road victory in Columbus, Tuukka Rask and the "B's" should be locked in for today's matinee performance. Take Rask in a tight one.. Until Buffalo solves it's scoring woes and Ryan Miller can perform like an elite goalie, they will struggle to gain some wins. We like Josh Harding and Minnesota on the road.. You can bet Alex Ovechkin and company will look to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the up-start Avalanche. A perfect recipe for a comeback is facing the sieve-like goaltending of the Edmonton Oilers. Take Braden Holtby in a high-scoring affair. FANTASY MUST-STARTS Tuukka Rask, Boston vs. Detroit Josh Harding, Minnesota @ Buffalo Braden Holtby, Washington vs. Edmonton DAILY GOALIE PICKS Steve (4-8) - Braden Holtby Ray (5-7) - Tuukka Rask Mike (5-6) - Tuukka Rask

NHL IN 30-2013/14: MINNESOTA WILD primepucks.com Mon 9/16/13 7:51 AM

The Wild managed to make the playoffs last year helped by the big acquisitions of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. However, they barely made it with the 8th seed and were quickly bounced out by Chicago in the first round.  With the huge contracts for Parise and Suter, as well as big money being paid to Mikko Koivu and Dany Heatley, and the decrease in the salary cap from $72 million to $64 million, Minnesota looks a little top heavy with their salary structure.  They may be robbing themselves of depth and experience for pricey players, as indicated by the departure of Matt Cullen, Tom Gilbert, Devin Setoguchi, Pierre Marc Bouchard, and even the trade of Cal Clutterbuck for Nino Niederreiter.  Minnesota will have to go young this season and will likely depend on some of its young players to step up this season and fill the void.  20 year-old Charlie Coyle will probably be second line center, although he may have to fight against Mikael Granlund, also 20 years old, for the job.  One of them will likely center the second line, and the other the third.  Other youngsters, such as Jason Zucker and perhaps Niederreiter will have pressure to perform as well.  On defense Jonas Brodin and Marco Scandella will be asked to contribute.  The goaltending situation is murky, as 35 years old starter, Niklas Backstrom has become injury prone, he went down in warm-ups against Chicago in the playoffs, and his body may be wearing down.  Backup Josh Harding is suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, and he can't be counted on for carrying too much of the load.  The Wild have some of the league's top players, but they have lost depth and experience and need the young players to step it up for them to make the playoffs again this season. Goalies    Backstrom is slated to be the starter. He had decent numbers last season going 24-15-3 in 42 games with a 2.48 goals against average and a .909 save percentage with 2 shutouts. He needed surgery in the off-season after developing a sports hernia at the start of last season's playoffs.  Coach Mike Yeo has indicated that he might lower Backstrom's workload to keep him healthy.  This would lower his fantasy value somewhat.  The problem for Yeo is that his backup Josh Harding really cannot be counted on to share a big load because of his illness.  It will depend on how his disease progresses.  That would leave Darcy Kuemper, only 23 years old, as a potential backup.  Kuemper had good numbers in the minors, but he has only 6 games of NHL ...

Injury: Harding left yesterday's game and did not return. dailyfaceoff.com Wed 5/8/13 2:56 PM

Jonathan Toews landed on Harding during a deke where he lost the puck. Harding stayed down for a bit, slowly got up and at the next stoppage was flexing his left leg. He gutted it out but Darcy Kuemper started the second.

Goalie Start: Harding will start for the WIld. dailyfaceoff.com Fri 5/3/13 2:56 PM

Harding was a surprise starter in Game 1 and despite his on-going battle with MS he played very well. He allowed two goals on 37 shots in the OT loss. It will not be easy for the Wild to win games in this series but if Harding continues to play well he will give them a chance.
