Bailey has cleared COVID-19 protocols and skated with his teammates Friday, but he won't play in Friday's game against the Penguins, Brian Compton of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Barry Trotz said Bailey could be ready to play as soon as Sunday against the Rangers, but the winger won't jump back into the lineup Friday. Another update on Bailey's status should surface prior to Sunday's game.

Bailey (COVID-19) is expected to rejoin the Islanders this weekend, Brian Compton of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Bailey should rejoin his teammates soon, he hasn't practiced since testing positive for COVID-19 last Tuesday, so he likely won't be available for Friday's game versus Pittsburgh or Sunday's matchup with the Rangers. Another update on the 32-year-old winger, who's picked up six points through 12 contests this campaign, should surface once he's cleared to return to game action.

Bailey (Covid-19) is still under quarantine in Florida and there is no timetable for when he will rejoin the Islanders, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey was the first of several Islanders to test positive for Covid-19, and he has remained in Florida since the Islanders lost to the Panthers this past Tuesday. The Islanders are missing six regulars out of their lineup due to Covid-19 and injury. The Islanders were only able to score two goals combined in their first two games in their new arena. They lost 5-2 to the Flames on Saturday and followed that up by being shut out 3-0 by the Maple Leafs on Sunday. The Isles' next game is Wednesday versus the Rangers, where they will hope to get back one or more of Anders Lee, Adam Pelech, Andy Greene, Ross Johnston, Kieffer Bellows, and Bailey from the Covid-19 protocols.

Bailey was placed on the COVID-19 list and will not play Tuesday against Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey has just one assist over his last five games. He'll have a few days to get off the COVID-19 list before Saturday's contest against the Flames. Casey Cizikas (illness) will draw back into the lineup Tuesday.

Bailey only has nine goals over his last 65 games for the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey has never been a prolific goal scorer as he had never eclipsed the 20 goal mark in a season and has only reached as much as 18 once. Still, nine goals over his last 65 games and 23 over 133 games just isn't getting the job done. Bailey does have 61 assists in that span, but one has to wonder if his time as a top-six forward for the Islanders is coming or should be coming to an end.

Bailey scored a goal and added an assist in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey got the scoring started at 2:16 of the first period, converting on a pass from Jean-Gabriel Pageau. In the third, Bailey set up Mathew Barzal for an insurance tally. The 32-year-old Bailey is showing signs of life on offense with three of his four points this season coming in the last two games. Naturally, the Islanders hit a lull in their schedule this week -- their next game is Saturday versus the Predators. Bailey will have to hang onto his momentum as best he can until then.

Bailey notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey hasn't performed very well to start the year, but he was bumped up to the top line with Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee. While that trio didn't combine for much offense Saturday, Bailey was able to set up Brock Nelson for a tally late in the second period. Bailey has two assists, four shots on net and a minus-5 rating in five contests -- the playmaking winger is still off to a slow start and likely best left off fantasy rosters in standard formats for now.

Bailey has only one assist and is a minus-4 during the Islanders' first two games of the season.
EDGE Analysis
While only one point and two SOG in two games is nothing to be proud of, it's the minus-4 that is of most concern to the Islanders. They are built to play defense and protect their goal first, offense second. Bailey is far from the only player on the team that has had issues in their defensive zone to start the season, though, as 12 other players sport a minus rating. Bailey and the team will look to rectify this situation starting Tuesday versus the Blackhawks.

Bailey scored a goal on his only shot and added a pair of hits in Saturday's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay in Game 4.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey took a slick cross-ice pass from Brock Nelson and powered a wrist shot past Andrei Vasilevskiy from the right circle, opening the scoring 5:30 into the second period. The goal was Bailey's sixth of the postseason but his first in the last five games. The longtime Islander has produced 13 points through 16 playoff contests.

Bailey registered two assists and was plus-2 in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Boston in Game 6.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey logged his second consecutive two-point performance, assisting on back-to-back goals by Brock Nelson in the second period. The 13th-year Islander is enjoying a strong postseason, contributing five goals and six assists in 12 contests.
