Joshua Bailey (knee) will likely be able to practice with his teammates sometime this week. He has been skating with team skills coordinator Bernie Cassell and when he's ready to join the Islanders he will be removed from the team's suspended list. Bailey was injured while playing overseas during the lockout, which led to his suspension.

Joshua Bailey (knee) hopes to start skating on Monday. Bailey is still probably at least a week away from returning to the New York Islanders' lineup. He had 13 goals and 32 points in 80 games last season.

Joshua Bailey will remain out of action for at least a week, likely two. He sustained a knee injury while playing overseas and and has been suspended and placed on the injured list. Bailey's injury was originally thought to be worse, so a return in approximately 14 days or so is good news.

The New York Islanders on Tuesday suspended Joshua Bailey (knee surgery) and Jesse Joensuu (groin) for getting injured while playing overseas during the lockout. The Isles said both players will be reinstated once they pass their physicals, which in Bailey's case could be a while. This makes the Islanders the second team to take such action, following the Panthers. The NHLPA can't be happy about this and it wouldn't shock us in the least if they had something to say.

Joshua Bailey is not currently at camp because of arthroscopic knee surgery. There isn't a timetable available for his return. Bailey played six games with the Bietigheim Steelers in Germany's second division during the lockout, where he had 11 points.

If his work in Germany's second league is any indication, Josh Bailey could have quite the time in the NHL this season. He had almost two points per game, with three goals and eight assists for 11 points in six games. He didn't put up eye-popping numbers with the New York Islanders last season, but some pointed out that his season really took off when he switched to left wing. Some - especially Isles fans eager to add a member at a low price - might want to consider him a very late-round sleeper for that reason.

Josh Bailey has signed with the German second-division team Bietigheim-Bissingen. Bailey will play with Sharks forward T.J. Galiardi. The Islanders' ninth-overall pick from 2008 had 32 points last season, his fourth year in the league. The 23-year-old has yet to have that breakthrough offensive campaign his OHL career hinted at. Hopefully his stay in Germany is a short one.

Joshua Bailey is hoping to build off of his strong finish to the 2011-12 campaign. Bailey shifted to the wing and ended up with six goals and 17 points in his final 19 games. However, overall he had just 32 points in what was another disappointing campaign. "I certainly feel like I have something to prove," said Bailey. "I don't think I've hit my stride yet. The way the season finished, I felt like I got to show myself and show what I can do a little more. Obviously, I want to continue that for a full 82 games." He's worth keeping an eye on in training camp, because if he starts the season on one of the Islanders' top two lines then he might finally start to live up to people's expectations.
