Only available as a PRIME+PLUS subscriber, here is a piece on NY Islander Joshua Bailey: 10/18/13". Enjoy!:
UNDER THE RAYDAR: Joshua Bailey-C-New York Islanders October 18, 2013
Everyone in fantasy hockey knows of John Tavares, and everyone in fantasy hockey has been waiting for Kyle Okposo to breakout. There are those who know how well Matt Moulson has done being on the wing of JT. There are those who stare in awe at the speed of Michael Grabner but sigh at his lack of consistency. As everyone's eyes have been focused on these bright and talented Islanders, there are other Islanders who should at least be on someone's watch list. In the pre-season, everyone had thought it was time for Ryan Strome to make the jump to the big leagues, me included. Maybe that time will come during the season. There was another player who piqued my interest this year but I did not follow through on it with much conviction, although in the 2013-2014 Fantasy Draft Guide, we did predict him making a leap forward in production.
The New York Islanders and GM Garth Snow have been waiting for 24 year old Josh Bailey to take the next step in his NHL career. He was drafted #9 overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft after a spectacular season with the Windsor Spitfire of the OHL. His Spitfire team mates that year were Taylor Hall, Adam Henrique and Ryan Ellis among others. Would you believe that Mr. Bailey actually led that bunch in scoring? Even beating out Taylor Hall? Well he did and you know how highly touted Mr. Hall is. John Tavares was drafted #1 overall the following year, which took all the attention away from Josh Bailey, leaving him to grow under JT's shadow.
Bailey led that Spitfire team with 96 points in 67 games, outscoring Hall by 12 points, who played in 4 fewer games. The year prior, Bailey scored 61 in 69 games splitting time between Windsor and the Owen Sound Attack. In four years of OHL play, the young Center had 183 points in 191 games. Not too shabby. So why is Bailey not recognized as an extremely talented offensive center? With the Isles getting the number 1 overall in 2009, a lot of the focus was placed immediately on Tavares as being the...
Injury: Bailey (shoulder) will return to the Islanders lineup tonight. dailyfaceoff.com Mon 1/6/14 2:56 PM
Bailey missed the last four games with a shoulder injury that he suffered on December 28. He has 13 points (4G / 9A) in 38 games and could potentially see more ice-time than usual with Kyle Okposo as a game-time decision.

Bailey will miss his third straight game tonight, but is definitely nearing a return. He recorded three assists in his last four games and has totalled 13 points (4G / 9A) in 38 games.

The Islanders are hoping that the night off helps spark some offence in Bailey who has just two assists in 13 games in November. He has four goals and 10 points in 25 games on the season, but the Isles are looking for more from a forward who plays in the top-6 on a nightly basis. Brock Nelson comes out of the lineup in favour of Bailey.
Line Change: Struggling Josh Bailey is a healthy scratch; Colin Mac... dailyfaceoff.com Fri 11/29/13 7:56 PM
Bailey has four goals and six assists in 25 games, however he has just two assists and a minus-3 rating in 13 games in November. Bailey has 11 goals and eight assists in 38 games last season, so he has clearly taken a step back to begin the season.

The Islanders slotted Bailey into the NHL lineup right away and he played 68 games that first season, scoring 7-18-25 by playing with players who were beyond their prime years such as Doug Weight and Bill Guerin. The next season, #1 pick Tavares was inserted into the lineup along with trade acquisition Matt Moulson creating a lot of hoopla that those two along with Okposo would be a dynamic first line but that really didn't come to fruition. Joshua Bailey, again, in the shadows ...
DAILY PRIME OCTOBER 9, 2013: HUGE NIGHT FOR SHARK'S ROOKIE primepucks.com Wed 10/9/13 4:54 AM
The big story surrounding the San Jose Shark's early surge has been the stellar play of Czech rookie Tomas Hertl, who has "fit like a glove" on the first line with Joe Thornton and Brent Burns. Well, he outdid himself last night after scoring his first NHL "hat trick", plus another highlight-reel goal for good measure in the Sharks 9-2 drubbing of the New York Rangers. The 19-year old now leads the entire league with 6 goals and 7 points, while sitting second with a +5 rating. It's obviously way too early to hand him over the Calder Trophy, but his early performance should not be discounted, either. This is the type of young player with "Jaromir Jagr"-like potential, that can really motivate a veteran like Thornton to keep pushing him to new heights. He is worth an immediate waiver-wire grab in all leagues, but could end up being fantasy gold in keeper formats.
Other Fantasy Notes: Roberto Luongo wins the showdown against former goalie mate Cory Schneider, stopping 21 of 23 shots in Vancouver's 3-2 OT win over New Jersey. The real fantasy star of the night was defenseman Jason Garrison, who scored the overtime goal, his third of the season, and extended his point streak to four games. He is looking very legit in the early going, but it's probably too late to pick him up.... No James Neal? No problem for the Penguins, as Jussi Jokinen scored his first career "hat trick", including two on the power-play. Even though he will lose PP time when Neal returns, it's worth noting that he has collected 14 points in 13 games since being traded to Pittsburgh. If he stays on the 2nd line, 60 pts. is a definite possibility.... Need a d-man? You were warned by us that Jamie McBain can have a fantasy impact on his new team, the Buffalo Sabres. The 25-year old scored a goal and an assist, both on the powerplay, and logged 4:24 minutes on the top PP unit. Tyler Myers has "gone south" in a hurry, so keep McBain on your radar.... John Tavares scored his first two goals and now has four points in three games, but what about that second line on Long Island? Michael Grabner, Frans Nielson, and Josh Bailey combined for 9 points in the 6-1 romp over Phoenix. I like Grabner the best out of the lot for fantasy purposes. He has 35+ goal potential.. Speaking of Phoenix, Mike Ribeiro has yet to register a single point through three games. We saw that coming. Hopefully, you read our '13-14 Fantasy Guide and did not overrate him based on his gaudy numbers with Washington last season.....

DAILY PRIME- SEPTEMBER 20, 2013: PRE-SEASON FANTASY BITS; RNH EXTEN... primepucks.com Fri 9/20/13 8:43 AM
Pavel Datsyuk seems to be on a mission and with the way he's been playing so far in the pre-season he could finish in the top ten in scoring this year. Perhaps being in the Eastern Conference and having less travel time will improve all the Red Wing's numbers....Another mission statement, this one by Ryan Miller, who is out to prove that he belongs among the top goaltenders in the league. Don't write him off as this team could be underestimated....Who is Brayden McNabb? Sabre fans will know but perhaps the rest of the fantasy world doesn't. The 22 year old defenseman had a goal and two assists in last night's win over the Hurricanes. He played well with LW Johan Larsson, who had 2 goals and an assist in the game, but don't expect them to be major contributors this year. Keep them in mind though for the future perhaps...Two names that won't be voted off the Island if they produce are RW Kyle Okposo and C Josh Bailey. The former had 2 assists last night and the latter had 2 short-handed goals. These 2 paired up and have shown some chemistry. Don't forget them on draft day as the Islanders will be a much improved team this year....With all eyes on this year's top draft pick Jonathan Drouin, it was Brett Connolly who posted 2 goals in last night's game. Don't forget about this 46-goal scorer in the WHL in 2010-2011 and who also scored 31 goals in the AHL last year...Toronto Maple Leaf Nazem Kadri is proving that he will continue with the work effort he displayed last season by potting his 2nd goal of the pre-season.
Big Signing:The Edmonton Oilers continue to lock up their young talent to long-term contracts. This time they inked C Ryan Nugent-Hopkins with a 7-year extension meaning RNH joins taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle who have signed long-term contracts with the club. Now the young guns can concentrate on hockey for the next 6-7 years. Nugent-Hopkins had a disappointing 24 points in 40 games last year but was hindered by a shoulder injury and is now rehabbing from off-season surgery on that shoulder.
