Goalie Start: Quick will start for the Kings in game 4. dailyfaceoff.com Sun 5/11/14 12:56 AM
Quick allowed three goals on 22 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Ducks in game 3. While it was not Quick's best performance, the Ducks goaltending situation is up in the air again, which means the Kings have the goaltending advantage heading into game 4. Quick comes into play with a 6-4 record, 2.72 GAA and .920 SV% in 10 playoff starts.

Quick stopped 36 of 37 shots in the Kings' 3-1 win over the Ducks in game 2. He has stopped 69 of 72 shots (.958 SV%) so far in round 2. The 28-year-old has won six straight with a 1.29 GAA and .961 SV%. The Kings can take a commanding 3-0 lead with a win at home tonight. They are averaging 4.33 goals per game at Staples Center this postseason.
Goalie Start: Quick gets the start in game 2 vs. the Ducks. dailyfaceoff.com Tue 5/6/14 12:56 AM
Quick stopped 33 of 35 shots in the Kings 3-2 OT win in Game 1. The Kings were seven seconds away from being down 1-0, but Marian Gaborik played hero as he tied it up with just seconds left and also tallied the OT-winner. Quick has won five in a row and now carries a 2.89 GAA and .917 SV% in eight postseason starts. He will look to steal game 2 and head back to Los Angeles with a 2-0 series lead.
Goalie Start: Quick will start for the Kings in game 1 vs. Anaheim. dailyfaceoff.com Sat 5/3/14 7:56 PM
Quick stopped 39 of 40 shots to give the Kings the 5-1 win over San Jose in game 1 of the Western Quarterfinals. He finished the first round with a pedestrian 3.10 GAA and .914 SV%, but what those numbers don't tell you is that he had a 1.25 GAA and .963 SV% after the Kings fell behind three games to none. Quick was 0-2-1 vs. the Ducks in the regular season, but that is not a cause for concern. The Ducks goaltending situation is in a state of flux right now, so L.A has a big edge between the pipes.
DAILY PRIME - MAY 3, 2014: ANAHEIM VS. LOS ANGELES SERIES PREVIEW primepucks.com Sat 5/3/14 5:51 AM
ANAHEIM vs. LOS ANGELES
Must-Starts
Anaheim: Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry
Los Angeles: Anze Kopitar, Justin Williams, Jonathan Quick, Drew Doughty, Marian Gaborik, Jeff Carter
Sleepers
Anaheim: Nick Bonino, Jonas Hiller, Cam Fowler, Francois Beauchemin
Los Angeles: Slava Voynov, Tyler Toffoli, Dustin Brown
Notes: In a matchup that was dominated by Anaheim during the regular season, it's the Los Angeles Kings who are streaking at the right time after roaring back from a 3-0 deficit against San Jose in the first round. Offensively speaking, the forwards began to rack up points in Game 4 after Coach Sutter made a few nifty moves, shifting Dustin Brown to the top line and Justin Williams to the third line. Anze Kopitar was their best forward throughout the series, collecting 10 points in seven games. Trade deadline acquisition Marian Gaborik continued to build chemistry with Kopitar, scoring 2 goals and 3 assists. Center Jeff Carter did a phenomenal job lining up between speedster rookies Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson, while "Mr. Clutch" Justin Williams provided valuable depth scoring with six points of his own. Both Carter and Williams are upper-tier fantasy options for the remainder of the playoffs. On defense, Drew Doughty was dominant on both ends of the ice, and even more valuable on the top power-play unit. Look for him to continue his elite ways in Round 2. While Jake Muzzin was strong in Round 1, Slava Voynov could be a solid fantasy sleeper to target. His coming-out party was during the King's Stanley Cup Run in 2012, so he steps up in big moments. However, it's in the crease where the Kings have their most decisive edge as Jonathan Quick is on top of his game after stopping 94 of his last 96 shots through Games 5-7. Ignore his dreadful start to the playoffs, as the All-World backstopper has shown several times in his career that he has the uncanny ability to get "hot" quicky and sustain it for long stretches of time.
The Ducks rely heavily on arguably the best forward tandem in the NHL, Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, for most of their offensive production. The two All-Stars led the way with seven points apiece in Round 1, but there is a huge dropoff after these two. Young Nick Bonino followed his career-season of 49 points with four points in 6 playoff games, including the series clinching Game 6 OT "dagger". His confidence should continue to build into Round 2, as he has become the Duck's third most important offensive forward. Veterans Saku ...

Not exactly a resounding vote of confidence for the star goalie from his coach but you have to think he'll get an opportunity to redeem himself when the Kings return home for Game 3.
