DAILY PRIME - OCTOBER 31, 2013: NOT SO SCARY NHL NIGHT! primepucks.com Thu 10/31/13 2:26 PM
It was all that you could've asked for in a Bruins-Penguins game except if you are a Boston fan, as Marc-Andre Fleury (21/23 SV) edged Tuukka Rask (28/31 SV) 3-2 at home. The game was up-tempo with not a lot of whistle stoppages as the two teams did their best to gain the upper hand. Both goalies should be in your starting lineup regardless of opponent......Bruins C Patrice Bergeron had a goal and an assist in the contest and even though he has started out rather quietly, he will heat up. Remember that he is still recovering from a boatload of injuries during last year's playoffs. With 6 points in 11 games, he is below a point-per-game pace so it may be a good time to see if you can snatch him from a somewhat disgruntled owner....Pens LW Chris Kunitz scored on the power play, a rare feat between these 2 teams, with assists by Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang. This will be a familiar sight as the season moves on as Letang is back from his injury. Letang could be a candidate for the scoring title among defensemen if he didn't get hurt so often lately....Toronto made it 3 straight as they didn't suffer a letdown on back-to-back nights as they headed into Calgary, who was coming off a 5-2 win over the Caps. Joffrey Lupul returned to the lineup and got the Leafs off to a good start with a 1st period goal, his 7th, while G Jonathan Bernier played brilliant in stopping 41 of 43 SOG to raise his record to 6-4-0. It's safe to get Lupul back into your lineup....The more amazing feat last night was that Phil Kessel was held off the score sheet. Kessel had scored 10 points in his previous 4 games before last night. Wow!.....Jimmy Howard stopped the bleeding of his 4-game losing streak by stopping 19 of 20 SOG from the Vancouver Canucks as the Detroit Red Wings edged Roberto Luongo 2-1 in Vancouver. Both goalies are must-starts in your fantasy league....San Jose traveled down to Los Angeles and found that the Staples center is a continuing thorn in their side as they lost 4-3 in overtime. The goaltenders Antti Niemi (19/24 SV) and Jonathan Quick (17/20 SV) were not at their best in last night's tilt so it was a matter of which team would get the last good chance.....Anze Kopitar, Justin Williams, Mike Richards and Drew Doughty each had 2 points in the game. Williams now has 8 points in past 6 games; get him into your lineup.... Richards is always an enigma to fantasy fans as he has the talent to be a top fantasy forward, but is annoyingly streaky. He can go on a...

Goalie Start: Scrivens starts Tuesday; Quick starts Wednesday. dailyfaceoff.com Tue 10/29/13 7:56 PM
While Richard Bachman worked his tail off on one end (47 saves), Quick eased his way to a 2-1 shootout win in the other. He only saw 18 shots in the contest and picked up his seventh win in 11 starts. Quick had a slow start last season, so expect the 2.53 GAA and .907 SV% to improve as the season progresses. Quick draws the tougher of the two matchups as he takes on the Sharks tomorrow.
Goalie Start: Jonathan Quick is the Kings projected starter. dailyfaceoff.com Sun 10/27/13 2:56 PM
Quick allowed four goals on 28 shots in an exiting win over the Coyotes on Thursday. He has a great matchup today when he takes on an Oilers team who is coming off a tough loss on Saturday.
THE GOALIE EDGE: 10/27/2013 primepucks.com Sun 10/27/13 10:19 AM
ALL GOALIES CONFIRMED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED AT TIME OF PRINT
Tough games today, but there are two juicy matchups that fantasy owners can look to. First, Semyon Varlamov needs to be starting in all fantasy formats, as the league's best Colorado Avalanche are playing Winnipeg at home. Yes, the same Jet's team that sneaked by Dallas last night in the 2-1 SO win. No such luck tonight, as the Av's should take care of business at home. Take Varly... The Edmonton Oilers blew a third-period lead in Phoenix on Saturday, as backup Jason LaBarbera was not the answer in goal. For tonight's game against the heavily favored Los Angeles Kings, they will turn to ex-Dallas Star Richard Bachman, who will be making his first start in an Oiler uniform. Regardless of either Jonathan Quick or Ben Scrivens starting, take the Kings to win. Quick owners wait to get the confirmation on who is getting the start.. Our sleeper would go to Jacob Markstrom (LIKELY) who faces the Lightning at home. Tampa Bay earned a hard-earned victory against the Sabres, and now turn to Anders Lindback in the second of back-to-back games. Am sniffing an upset, so side with Markstrom.
FANTASY MUST-STARTS
Semyon Varlamov, Colorado vs. Winnipeg
Jonathan Quick/Ben Scrivens, Los Angeles vs. Edmonton
SLEEPER ALERT
Jacob Markstrom, Florida vs. Tampa Bay

For tonight's game against the heavily favored Los Angeles Kings, they will probably turn to Devan Dubnyk(LIKELY), who has been a huge fantasy disappointment so far. Goalie Start: Quick starts. dailyfaceoff.com Fri 10/25/13 12:56 AM
Quick allowed three goals on 25 shots in a loss to the Flames on Monday. Despite the loss Quick has looked much sharper in his recent starts, providing his owners with a sense of relaxation after a slow start. He has a solid matchup with the Coyotes tonight.

Goalie Start: Quick starts tonight for the Kings. dailyfaceoff.com Mon 10/21/13 2:56 PM
Quick allowed two goals on 29 shots in a 5-2 win over the Stars on Saturday. He has been a little inconsistent, but has now had two great starts in a row. His GAA is at 2.50 and SV% up to .913 so continue to start him, especially against the Flames tonight.
THE GOALIE EDGE: 10/21/2013 primepucks.com Mon 10/21/13 12:32 PM
The marquee matchup of the night is too close to call, as the up-start Colorado Avalanche are paying a visit to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Av's are 4-0 on the road, with backup J.S. Giguere in the net tonight. However, you cannot discount M.A. Fleury's incredible play to start the year, especially at home.. The Calgary Flames will again be riding Karri Ramo in the crease, even though his numbers are 0-1-1 with a 4.37 GAA. Jonathan Quick and the L.A. Kings have won five of six, so go with the hot hand. Huge edge for Quick.. I love those Red Wings, but Jimmy Howard's return in the 5-2 loss to Phoenix now seems untimely, considering backup Jonas Gustavsson had won three straight starts. Antti Niemi and San Jose have been clicking on all cylinders, so their road date at Joe Louis Arena should be a triumphiant one. Niemi wins a close one.
