There are ten games on the schedule in the NHL tonight. Carolina and Buffalo start things off with a game in Buffalo. Anton Khudobin is (likely) for the Huricanes, and he has played well this year with an 8-3 record and a 2.05 goals against. Jhonas Enroth has been (confirmed) for the Sabres, and he has had a tough season with only 1 win. We like Carolina....Philadelphia goes against the Blue Jackets in Columbus. With Steve Mason playing last night, Ray Emery is (confirmed) for the Flyers . Emery has struggled as the backup with only a .901 save percentage. Sergei Bobrovsky has been (confirmed) for Columbus, and no one is hotter than him with 6 straight wins. Go with the hot guy....The Blues are at the Garden to play the Rangers. Jaroslav Halak has been (confirmed) for St. Louis. He appears to have taken back the starting job. Henrik Lundqvist has been (confirmed) for New York, and he has been hot as well with 5 wins in 6 games. Go with the King in what should be a tough match....The Senators are at Tamba Bay, and Craig Anderson has been (confirmed) for Ottawa. He had been hot with a 5 game winning streak, but has lost 3 of his last 5. Ben Bishop, who has been the goalie story of the year, is (confirmed) for the Lightning. He has cooled a bit going only 4-3 in his last 7, but we like him in this game....With Marc-Andre Fleury playing last night, Jeff Zatkoff is (confirmed) for the Penguins against the Islanders. He has only played in 10 games, but he has won 4 of 5. Kevin Poulin is (confirmed) to be in goal for New York. His overall numbers are bad, but he has won 6 of 8 in January. Have to go with Pittsburgh though....Chicago is at Minnesota, and Antti Raanta is (likely) in goal for the Blackhawks. Raanta has played in only 2 games in January, but he won them both. Minnesota will surely start Darcy Kuemper (likely) as Josh Harding and Niklas Backstrom are both out. Kuemper is 3-2 in his last 5 games. Go wth Chicago and Raanta....Toronto is at Dallas, ad it looks like Jonathan Bernier (confirmed)is slowly grabbing the starting job for the Maple Leafs. He has been gettng more ice time lately, and he has 4 straight wins. Kari Lehtonen is (confirmed) for the Stars as he has been struggling lately going 2-8 in his last 10 games. Go with Bernier on this one....The Kings are at Anaheim and will (likely) start Jonathan Quick in goal. Quick has been only 4-4 since returning from injury, but he does have a .938 save percentage for those games. ...
Goalie Start: Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups. dailyfaceoff.com Mon 1/20/14 2:56 PM
Quick allowed two goals on 35 shots in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Red Wings. On of the goals he gave up was highly questionable as it came off of the netting hit him in the back and went in. The goal counted because the play was not whistled dead, which makes it not reviewable. Today he takes on a shorthanded blueline and the Bruins backup netminder, he should be started.

Quick stopped 28 of 29 shots in a 4-1 win over a great Blues team on Thursday. It was a big win for the Kings against a powerhouse St. Louis squad. Quick moved to 4-1-1 with a 1.32 GAA And .947 SV% since getting back from his groin injury on January 4. However, that one regulation loss came against the Red Wings team that he will see tonight. That being said, the Wings are really banged up and are coming off of back-to-back 1-0 losses.

Wow! 13 games on the schedule in the NHL today with 3 games in the afternoon. New York and Ottawa will start things off. Cam Talbot has been confirmed in goal for New York, while Craig Anderson will be in goal for Ottawa. Talbot has been sensational this year for New York with a 1.66 goals against and and a 9-3-0 record. Anderson started the year off terrible, but he has been better lately with 6 wins in his last 8 games and only OT losses. Like Talbot in this one though. San Jose is at Tampa Bay and Ben Bishop is the likely goalie for the Lightning. As much as we like Sharks goalie Antti Niemi with his 24 wins, his save percentage is only .915, so go with Bishop and his .938 save percentage. The Oilers goal situation is pretty bad and veteran goalie IIya Bryzgalov is the likely starter with Ondrej Pavelec for Winnipeg. Bryzgalov seems really old at 33, and his 3-7-2 3.27 goals against are just not there. Go with the Jets. Tim Thomas had been a little hot with Florida a while back, but he has lost 4 of his last 7 games. Anton Khudobin is likely in goal for Carolina and we like his chances better. Steve Mason and his Flyers will go against the Islanders. New York has no chance but to play Kevin Poulin with Nabokov hurt. Go with Mason in this one. Jimmy Howard has been confirmed for Detroit while Jonathan Quick is likely for Los Angeles. Howard has been spotty this year, while Quick has been sharp in his return from being injured. Carey Price will be in goal for the Canadians against the Maple Leafs who are expected to play Jonathan Bernier. This is a tough one, but Price was outstanding in his last game against Otawa with 44 saves, and some of them terrific. Go with him. Columbus will almost certainly start Sergei Bobrovsky who has won his last 4 starts since returning from a groin injury. Buffalo will likely start Ryan Miller, and this one is easy, go with Bobrovsky. Brian Elliott has been confirmed for St. Louis in a bug game against Anaheim which will likely start Jonas Hiller who seems to have recovered from his recent illness. Tough to go against Anaheim even though the Blues are at home. Nashville will likely start their new acquisition Devan Dubnyk against Colorado. We admit that you can't teach size, and at 6' 7" Dubnyk is large and the Predators defense is a lot better than Edmontons, but a .895 save percentage is a .895 save percentage. Go with Colorado and Semyon Varlomov in this one. The Devils will likely start Cory Schneider at...

Quick stopped all 28 shots that he faced in a 1-0 win over the Canucks on Monday. He has been excellent, showing no ill effects from his groin injury - he is 3-1-1 with a 1.39 GAA and .942 SV% in five starts. He has a horrible matchup tonight vs. a Blues team who have won 10 of their last 12 games.

LA Kings' netminder Jonathan Quick hasn't been getting much goal support since his return so what does he go and do? He stops all 28 SOG and made Dustin Brown's goal seconds into the third period stand up as the game-winner and only goal of the game for his 13th win in 21 games. If there were any doubts if Quick was going to be able to return to his former elite self, those have been answered...Brown is a very streaky point-getter and can turn it on at any given point in time, but with just 16 points in 46 games, it would be risky to put your eggs in his basket at this time...Canuck backup goalie Eddie Lack also played well and deserved a better fate but Vancouver just couldn't get one past Quick. Lack's time as starting goalie is winding down as Roberto Luongo is nearing a return, but his performance shows that he is capable of taking the starting reins one day.
More Fantasy Game Notes: There hasn't been a lot to be happy about in Calgary this season as they have started their rebuilding process but Karri Ramo gave the Flames' fans something to cheer about last night as he shut out the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0; putting an end to their three game losing streak. If you are desperate for goaltending help, Ramo is a risky pickup for this year but going forward may be worth the growing pains. His record stands at 8-8-3 now with a 2.73 GAA and .904 SP which should improve as the team improves....By winning 4 games in a row since his return from injury, Anton Khudobin had people discussing what the Canes were going to do with their three-headed goaltending monster. Well, with two losses in a row, the goaltending situation is even more confusion since no one goaltender can grab the starter's role by the horns. If you were to take an educated gamble, take Cam Ward. He has the most experience being a starter. If you want to take a chance, take Khudobin. Check out ROMIE HITS THE POST article for more on the Carolina goaltending situation.... Sean Monahan is having a superb rookie year as he potted his 13th goal of the season to seal the victory for Ramo and the Flames. With 19 points in 39 games played, he has a bright future ahead of him which should project into a 70-75 point Center....Winnipeg Jets welcomed their new Head Coach, Paul Maurice, with a 5-1 effort against the visiting Phoenix Coyotes. The Jets had 5 different goal-scorers against Mike Smith. G Ondrej Pavelec backstopped the team by giving up only one goal which gave the Coyotes a brief 1-0 lead...
