Bernier allowed four goals on 25 shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Red Wings goaltending has been the remedy for the league's struggling offenses this season, and Bernier didn't change that narrative Monday. He's gone 0-4-1 in his last six appearances, and now has a 5-8-2 record for the year. Bernier also owns a 3.34 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 18 games. He's the top goalie for the Red Wings, who won't play again until Saturday against the Penguins.

Bernier will start Monday's game against the Islanders, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier will be backed up by Eric Comrie, with Jimmy Howard still sidelined by a lower-body injury. The Islanders are 1-2-1 in their past four games with only four goals over that span, but it's still tough to trust Bernier given his 3.30 GAA and .894 save percentage.

Bernier stopped 29 of 32 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Washington's final two goals were both scored into an empty net. Bernier kept the game from getting out of hand during a second period in which the Wings got outshot 13-5, but the veteran netminder would probably also like at least one of the goals back. With Jimmy Howard (lower body) having no timetable yet for his return, Bernier is still Detroit's No. 1 goalie by default for the moment, but his 3.30 GAA and .894 save percentage don't inspire much confidence.

Bernier will tend the home twine in Saturday's matchup against the Capitals, Dana Wakiji of the Red Wings' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier was thrust into action Wednesday against Toronto despite an illness since Jimmy Howard suffered a lower-body injury during the contest. The former didn't seem bothered by his condition, as he steered away 37 of 40 shots. Bernier appears to be healthy again, and he'll look to break a three-game losing streak where he posted an .887 save percentage and 3.72 GAA. He'll be a risky fantasy starter against the high-flying Caps, who rank fourth in the league with 3.52 goals per game.

Bernier stopped 37 of 40 shots after taking over for Jimmy Howard (lower body) midway through the first period during Wednesday's 6-0 loss to the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit's goaltending picture was a roller coaster Wednesday. Bernier was originally tabbed for the start, only to fall ill after the morning skate, which forced Howard into action. The veteran netminder lasted less than 10 minutes though, getting injured during the initial Leafs blitz and crumpling to his knees after John Tavares whipped the third goal of the night past him. Bernier ended up playing after all and delivered a solid performance against one of his former clubs under difficult circumstances. The Wings have already ruled Howard out for Friday's game against the Flyers, so look for Bernier -- and his shaky 3.31 GAA and .893 save percentage -- to handle starting duties for Detroit for the foreseeable future.

Bernier will actually cede Wednesday's start to Jimmy Howard against the Maple Leafs, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Khan made the declaration that Bernier would start in the morning after he departed the ice first during the optional morning skate. Unfortunately, it appears he will not get the call after all and will take a second straight game off for the first time this season. His next opportunity to retake the cage arrives Friday versus the Flyers.

Bernier will patrol the crease during Wednesday's home game against the Maple Leafs, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier has struggled over the last two weeks, suffering three straight losses while posting a sub-par 3.72 GAA and .887 save percentage. The 31-year-old netminder will look to start righting the ship in a home matchup with a Toronto team that's won two consecutive contests since firing head coach Mike Babcock.

Bernier made 29 saves in a 5-1 loss to the Devils on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed four goals. Bernier is in tough just about every outing given the youth and inexperience around him. But he did deliver three straight wins earlier this month. You can expect swings up and down, but if you're desperate in net, Bernier might help with an occasional win. Just don't expect miracles with his counting stats.

Bernier will be in net Saturday against New Jersey, Dana Wakiji of the Red Wings' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier hasn't won since Nov. 12 but could get back on track Saturday, taking on a Devils squad that's lost two in a row and is averaging 2.43 goals a night, 29th in the league.

Bernier allowed four goals on 33 shots in a 4-3 loss against the Senators on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
This snaps a streak of four straight games where Bernier helped his team earn a point. Still, in the stat columns, Bernier isn't really on the right track, as he's posted a save percentage below .900 in four of his last six appearances. He is 5-5-2 with an .891 save percentage and 3.24 GAA in 14 appearances this season.
