Gustavsson made 31 saves on 33 shots in Sunday's overtime loss to the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Gustavsson helped the Oilers earn a point with a very strong showing that boosted his save percentage to .923 on the season. While he hasn't seen much crease time behind Cam Talbot, Gustavsson has impressed in limited action and makes for a decent spot start whenever he gets the nod for the Oilers. He's only played five games this year, but his outing Sunday certainly didn't harm his chances of seeing increased playing time moving forward.

Gustavsson will be between the posts for Sunday night's game against the Wild, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gustavsson gets the nod after Cam Talbot toughed out an overtime win in Anaheim on Saturday night. This is only the 32-year-old Swede's third start of the year, as Talbot is clearly entrenched as the everyday starter. Gustavsson faces a Minnesota squad that scores 2.78 goals per game, good for 10th in the NHL.

Gustavsson made only his fourth appearance of the year Tuesday in a loss against Toronto, stopping all nine shots he faced in relief of Cam Talbot.
EDGE Analysis
Tasked with keeping the Oilers within three goals as they entered the third period, Gustavsson held up his end, but the offense wasn't able to mount a miraculous comeback. The 32-year-old started his career with the Leafs, but there's no one left on that roster except for James van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak who played alongside him, so he didn't have too much to reminisce over. Just two of Gustavsson's appearances have been starts, but with Talbot having taken three straight losses, the Swede stands a reasonable chance of getting tabbed for Thursday's matchup with Winnipeg.

Gustavsson allowed four goals on 25 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Gustavsson was given the start with Cam Talbot having lost four straight, but showed why he's the backup in a poor effort against a Kings team that had also dropped four straight coming in. He's 1-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and a subpar .898 save percentage.

Gustavsson will guard the goal for Thursday's clash in Los Angeles.
EDGE Analysis
With Cam Talbot dominating the playing time this season, Gustavsson has been held to only one start, though he did look sharp in that one. He's a good career backup and coach Todd McLellan hinted Thursday that he could be in line for more starts going forward. For now though, he'll look to get his second win of the season against a Kings squad that currently ranks 25th in the league with 2.29 goals per game.

Gustavsson was nearly perfect Sunday, halting 22 of 23 shots en route to a road win over the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
Gustavsson is rarely utilized as the backup to Cam Talbot, who's off to the best start of his career. In fact, Talbot had drawn into 12 games before Gustavsson finally received the starting nod against his former team Sunday. The low usage rate renders Gus useless in most season-long leagues, but he makes for a fine spot starter in daily formats when you consider the Oilers are currently tied with the Blackhawks for the Western Conference lead at 19 points apiece.

Gustavsson will tend the twine Sunday against the Red Wings, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given Cam Talbot's play in net and Gustavsson's early issues with a head injury, he's yet to receive an opportunity in net this season. His first start comes Sunday, when he will look to tame a Red Wings club that has lost four straight games.

EDGE Analysis
Based on the fact he's backing up Cam Talbot, it's safe to say he's over the head injury that forced him to leave the game against Buffalo on Oct. 16. The Oilers don't have a back-to-back set until Nov. 5 and 6, so it's unclear as to when Gustavsson might make his first start of the season.

Gustavsson (head) will be sidelined against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Gustavsson unable to serve in the backup role, the Oilers will recall Laurent Brossoit from AHL Bakersfield. Gustavsson faced just one shot after coming on in relief of starter Cam Talbot before being involved in a collision. As is often the case with head injuries, there is no timetable for the 31-year-old's return.

Gustavsson entered Sunday's game versus the Sabres in relief of Cam Talbot before exiting with a suspected head injury, WGR 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a bizarre series of events in Edmonton, as Gustavsson made his Oilers debut in relief of Cam Talbot -- who allowed four goals on 15 shots -- before colliding with Adam Larsson and suffering an apparent blow to the head. In fact, Gustavsson stayed down after the play and was attended to by the training staff and stayed in the game, only to be pulled shortly thereafter. In total, he played 10:04 and faced a single shot before his departure. Further updates will be provided regarding the Oilers' backup netminder as they become available.
